XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Porsche 991 CARRERA-2/S/TURBO (without hydraulic lift system) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2011-2019

The 991’s flat-six sits entirely behind the rear axle, which means the car enters gravel and snow stages with a weight distribution that no front-engined rally platform shares. On loose surfaces, that rear-heavy mass wants to swing wide on turn-in and load the rear tyres under acceleration – a characteristic that can be exploited or punished depending entirely on how well the suspension manages the oscillation. A 991 rally build is not a straightforward exercise, and the suspension has to be built around that reality.

The XYZ Racing Pro Rally coilover for the Porsche 991 Carrera-2/S/Turbo also resolves the factory electronics problem before it begins. This kit includes the PASM cancellation unit – the electronic damping control fitted as standard to Carrera-2, Carrera S, and Turbo variants throughout the 2011-2019 production run. Without it, fitting aftermarket coilovers to a PASM car creates a persistent ECU conflict; with it, the installation is clean and the suspension takes full authority over damping.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2019 Porsche 991 Carrera-2/S/Turbo

Removing PASM’s influence matters more than it might appear. The factory damping calibration is a tarmac tool, and on gravel or snow it works against the Pro Rally’s compression characteristics rather than with them. With that cleared, the suspension is free to do its job: longer travel, higher articulation, and spring rates appropriate for loose-surface inputs rather than circuit stiffness. On the RWD Carrera 2 and Carrera S, the lighter front end allows more latitude with front spring rates without introducing excessive dive under braking. The Turbo’s AWD system and heavier nose are a different calculation altogether – the adjustment range within this kit accommodates the weight spread across both platform variants.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing designs its rally suspension in two distinct configurations, and the distinction matters at the build stage. The first – the amateur configuration – installs directly to the original chassis structure with no modification to the car body, suiting road-legal competition cars or builds where the shell remains largely standard. The second is the professional configuration, intended for cars that have been body-modified: seam-welded, caged, or otherwise prepared for committed stage rally use where suspension pick-up geometry has been reworked. Both are engineered specifically for gravel and snow competition – for the repeated large-amplitude inputs that loose-surface stages produce – rather than being road coilovers repositioned under a different name. This is the top of XYZ’s competition suspension range.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 Carrera-2/S/Turbo (2011-2019)

This kit is specified for the 991 generation (chassis code PO31-C), covering Carrera-2, Carrera S, and Turbo variants from 2011 through to 2019. It is designed for 991s not fitted with the hydraulic lift system, and the included PASM cancellation kit covers cars built with electronic damping control – the configuration that accounts for the majority of 991s produced in this window. Check your car’s option codes before ordering if you are uncertain whether the hydraulic lift system is fitted.

1. Be installed directly with the original chassis. (Amateur type)
2. Be installed after modifying the car body. (Professional type)
