XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Honda INTEGRA DA6 SINGLE CAM (Rear FORK) 1989-1993

The DA-chassis Integra is one of the last front-drive Hondas where the rear suspension still uses the fork-style trailing arm – a layout that demands a damper purpose-built around it rather than a generic strut adapted to fit. The single-cam ZC-powered DA6 was always the lighter, sweeter-steering sibling to the DA9 GS-R, and on a stripped-out time-attack build that nose still wants to dart into apex with the smallest steering input. The XYZ Racing Racing Spec coilover for the Honda Integra DA6 Single Cam (Rr Fork) is built for owners running these cars hard at Cadwell, Anglesey, Donington and the usual UK track-day circuit calendar.

This is the sharpest of the XYZ Racing range – settings derived from direct involvement in WTCC-level competition, then translated down to a road-legal coilover that will still bolt into a 30-year-old DA chassis. Treat it as a serious track and time-attack damper that happens to be street-legal, not a road kit with extra clicks.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1993 Honda Integra DA6

A car this old has usually spent decades on tired McPherson struts and sagging rear damper bodies, so the first thing you feel is the chassis finally responding to inputs in real time – turn-in is immediate, the nose stops washing on long sweepers, and the rear actually rotates on a trailing throttle rather than skating. Ride-height adjustment lets you set the DA6 low enough to fix the factory’s tall fender gap without losing the suspension travel the rear fork needs to work properly. Damping adjustment is where this kit earns its keep: you can run a softer setting for a road blast over the Llanberis Pass on Saturday and crank it up for a Sunday session at Anglesey without a workshop visit. Braking confidence climbs because the front end stops diving onto the bump-stops under heavy threshold braking from triple-digit speeds, which is exactly where the DA’s nose was always nervous. None of that requires fabrication – the kit is engineered to bolt to a Rr-fork DA6 specifically, not a generic Honda fitment.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec sits at the competition end of the XYZ Racing line and is engineered around data gathered from genuine racing programmes, including WTCC participation. Spring and damping settings are not extrapolated from a catalogue – they come from the lap-time work XYZ Racing has done with race teams running similar front-drive chassis. Construction is heavy-duty enough for repeat high-load sessions, with damping characteristics weighted toward body control and tyre contact-patch consistency rather than long-wave road comfort. For owners with aggressive upgrades – uprated bushings, stripped interiors, slicks, factory-style racing modifications or A-class race builds – XYZ Racing will also produce a custom-spec set against your car’s modification list and the specific circuit you intend to run. You supply the build sheet and the circuit, they supply the damper.

Fitment for the Honda Integra (1989-1993)

This kit is built for the DA6 Integra running the single-cam ZC engine with the rear fork-style trailing arm setup, chassis code AC05, model years 1989 through 1993. It is not interchangeable with the DA9 GS-R twin-cam or with later DC2 chassis – the rear geometry is platform-specific to the fork DA cars.
