XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Honda INTEGRA DA6 SINGLE CAM (Rear FORK) 1989-1993

The DA6 Integra was Honda’s pocket coupé from a different era – kerb weight barely nudging a tonne, a willing single-cam B-series up front, and a chassis that lived or died by how well it could absorb the rough stuff. Aim one at a forest stage and the standard struts give up almost immediately; the rear fork-style damper geometry isn’t designed for the kind of compression loading gravel throws at it. That is the problem the XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built to solve.

This is the inverted-tube, long-stroke setup XYZ developed specifically for loose-surface competition – gravel, snow, silt, broken tarmac – rather than a smooth-road kit pretending to cope. For a DA6 being prepared for stage rally, rallycross, or a serious gravel hillclimb programme, it is the right starting point.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1993 Honda Integra Da6 Single Cam (rr Fork)

On a DA6 the front end is light and the chassis responds quickly to inputs, which makes it rewarding on tarmac and terrifying on gravel unless the dampers can keep the contact patch loaded over yumps and stutter sections. The Gravel Rally coilover’s long-travel inverted construction lets the wheel drop into compressions and recover without the spring binding or the damper bottoming, so the front tyres keep biting through the corner instead of skating across the surface. Long springs and rally-specific rates mean the car rides high enough to clear ruts but still settles under brakes. At the rear, with the original fork-mount geometry, you get a damper actually designed for the impact loads of a high-speed gravel stage rather than a road part being asked to survive them. The practical effect: more confidence on entry, less drama mid-corner, and a chassis that stops getting deflected by the surface.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Gravel Rally specifically for the most punishing condition in motorsport – rally and rallycross, where road surface changes from corner to corner. Construction is inverted-tube, which puts the larger, stiffer body at the top and gives better resistance to side-loading and stone-strike damage low down. Stroke is long by design, paired with long springs, so the damper can soak up large-amplitude impacts from rough, bouncy roads and still control the chassis when the car is loaded up through a high-G turn. Spring rates across the range are not theoretical numbers – XYZ states they have been tested and validated by rally racing teams, which is the only sensible way to arrive at a gravel rate. This is a competition damper, not a road coilover with longer springs bolted on.

Fitment for the Honda Integra (1989-1993)

Built for the DA6 chassis code Integra in single-cam (Rr Fork) configuration, model years 1989 to 1993. The rear fork-mount geometry is accounted for in the kit’s design, so you are getting a damper that fits the original mounting arrangement rather than a generic strut.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
