Running an F8 Tributo on a gravel stage sounds absurd until you remember that the F8 without the front-axle hydraulic lift is the one chassis variant that can actually accept a long-stroke rally damper without geometry compromises. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover is built for exactly that: a mid-engined supercar pressed into competition use where the surface is loose, the impacts are violent, and the standard magnetorheological setup was never going to survive a single liaison stage.
This is the inverted-tube, long-spring, long-stroke rally damper from XYZ Racing’s specialist range – the kit they hand to gravel teams, not the one they sell to track-day regulars. Spring rates have been validated by working rally crews, and the design brief assumes the car will land hard, rotate aggressively, and load the outside corner well past anything a sealed-surface circuit setup can tolerate.
What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 Ferrari F8
The F8’s twin-turbocharged V8 puts the weight high and far back, and on loose surfaces that mass behaviour is what punishes ill-suited dampers first. The inverted-tube layout gives the F8 a stiffer, less flex-prone strut body, which keeps the wheel pointing where the steering rack asked even when the front-left has just slammed into a compression. Long stroke means the suspension can actually do its job over yumps and crests rather than topping out and tossing the car off-line. The long springs hold ride height through the long, loaded corners gravel stages punish you with, and the rate progression keeps the rear from squatting onto its bumpstops when 710bhp tries to dig a hole on corner exit.
About the Gravel Rally coilover
XYZ Racing developed this coilover specifically for gravel-stage rally and rallycross – the two disciplines where damper survival is the headline engineering problem. The inverted-tube construction was chosen because rally surfaces vary between sandstone, snow and silt within a single event, and a conventional damper body flexes under the side-loads that mixed-surface running generates. Stroke length and spring length have been extended well beyond a circuit specification so the damper can absorb chassis vibration on high-speed bouncy sections and still carry the cornering G-loads of a flat-out gravel turn. Every spring rate offered in this kit has been tested in competition by rally teams; nothing on the rate card is a desk-calculated guess.
Fitment for the Ferrari F8 (2020-2026)
This kit fits the Ferrari F8 chassis FE11 between 2020 and 2026, in the variant supplied without the factory hydraulic front-lift system. If your F8 has the nose-lift option, this is not your kit – the front strut top architecture differs and you’ll need to confirm an alternative part before ordering.
