XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Ferrari F360 2001-2006

A Ferrari F360 built for gravel stages is a rare brief, and it is one that exposes every weakness in a road-derived suspension. The F360’s aluminium spaceframe was conceived for warm tarmac and circuit duty, with a short-stroke setup that loads the tyre evenly under cornering but runs out of travel the moment a stage surface turns to sandstone, ruts or compressed snow. This XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover replaces that envelope entirely.

The kit is built around an inverted-tube damper with a long stroke and a long, soft spring – the geometry rally engineers reach for when the car has to absorb a high-speed crest, settle, and still find grip through the next loose-surface corner. For an F360 used in historic rally, gravel sprint or Rally Cross duty, this is the right starting point.

What this coilover does for your 2001-2006 Ferrari F360

Fit this kit and the F360 stops fighting the surface. The long-stroke inverted-tube damper gives the chassis somewhere to go when the front wheels load a compression or the rears unload over a crest, so the tyre stays on the ground rather than skipping. Spring rates set by XYZ’s rally programme keep the body controlled through high-G direction changes without locking the suspension solid – critical on a mid-engined car where pitch and yaw response are already sharp. You also get the structural advantage of the inverted-tube design itself: the larger upper tube resists side-load far better than a conventional twin-tube, which matters when the F360’s stiff aluminium chassis tries to feed every impact straight into the damper rod. Across sandstone, silt and snow, the car settles faster between corners, and the driver gets a more honest message back through the wheel.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is XYZ Racing’s most surface-aggressive damper, developed specifically for Rally Racing and Rally Cross use – the disciplines XYZ themselves identify as the most punishing road conditions in motorsport. The inverted-tube architecture is the headline: the larger-diameter outer tube sits at the top, the rod runs inside it, and side-load handling improves dramatically over a conventional layout. Long stroke and long springs are paired deliberately to absorb chassis vibration on bouncy high-speed sections and to hold the car under the lateral G-force generated by loose-surface cornering. Spring rates are not theoretical – XYZ state that every rate in the range has been tested by their Rally Racing teams. For an F360 platform that was never asked to do this from the factory, the engineering brief behind this damper is the closest match in the XYZ catalogue.

Fitment for the Ferrari F360 (2001-2006)

This kit is built for the Ferrari F360 chassis code FE01, covering the 2001 to 2006 production span. Confirm your VIN matches the FE01 designation before ordering; F360 variants in this window share the same suspension geometry, but specification differences can affect collar and top-mount choice.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
