XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Ferrari F360 2001-2006

The F360 Modena’s mid-engined balance is one of the easiest in the Ferrari back-catalogue to exploit, but the factory damping was always tuned with a long European GT brief in mind – compliant, road-biased, and visibly out of its depth once you start asking real questions of the front axle on a B-road or a circuit. The Top Sport coilover is built to answer those questions without turning the car into something you’d dread driving to Goodwood.

For an F360 owner who wants the chassis to actually respond to inputs – turn-in that arrives when you ask, not a beat later – this is the Top Sport’s brief. It pulls the centre of gravity down, tightens body control around that aluminium tub, and gives you damping that copes with kerbs, ripples and trail-braking without breaking into the harshness that ruins the road side of the car.

What this coilover does for your 2001-2006 Ferrari F360

Drop the F360 onto a properly resolved coilover and the first thing you feel is the front axle stopping its slow float over crests and compressions. Body roll through Druids or Old Hall tightens up noticeably, and the rear stays planted under power instead of squatting and washing wide. The Top Sport’s damping is set roughly 30 to 50 percent firmer than a street tune, with spring rates lifted by around 2kg/mm, so you get the control of a track set-up without the spine-jarring penalty of a full race rig. Ride height is height-adjustable independent of damper stroke, which matters on a car this low – you keep the stroke you need over British road surfaces while still getting the stance the F360 was always meant to wear. Steering response sharpens because the chassis is no longer fighting itself mid-corner, and the brakes feel stronger simply because the nose is staying flat and loading the front tyres properly.

About the Top Sport coilover

The Top Sport sits in XYZ Racing’s range as the kit for owners who want a genuine track set-up but still need to drive home from the circuit. The damping rates are lifted 30 to 50 percent over the street specification and the spring rates step up by around 2kg/mm, the combination that XYZ developed out of their own Top Sport racing programme. The brief is impact control – absorbing big single hits without unloading the contact patch, then settling fast enough to keep the tyre working through the next input. That matters on a 360, which is light enough at the nose to skip across mid-corner bumps if the damper isn’t catching the rebound stroke quickly. Construction is monotube, height-adjustable independent of spring preload, and the kit ships matched front and rear for the F360 chassis rather than as a universal platform with adapters bolted on. The result is a coilover that suppresses shock travel, holds the body flat, and keeps tyre traction honest when you start pushing – exactly what the vendor describes as the brief from their racing experience.
