XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ferrari F360 2001-2006

The F360’s mid-engined balance and aluminium spaceframe were never built around the broken cambers, mid-corner crests and patched-asphalt compressions of a sealed-stage rally route. Put a 360 on a closed road that hasn’t been resurfaced since the late 90s and the standard damping runs out of travel long before the chassis runs out of grip – the front lifts under throttle over a crest, the rear skips wide on exit, and the driver spends the stage managing the car instead of attacking the road.

The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the Ferrari F360 is built specifically for that environment: sealed-stage tarmac rally, where the surface is paved but punishing, and the damper has to soak a sudden hit without losing contact on the next compression. This is not a track coilover repurposed – the valving comes from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme.

What this coilover does for your 2001-2006 Ferrari F360

On a 360 driven hard on imperfect tarmac, the gain is felt in two places: how the car receives a hit, and how quickly the tyre is back on the surface afterwards. The Tarmac Rally valving is shimmed to absorb a sharp vertical impact – a kerb edge, a tar-snake ridge, a sunken drain – without the harsh secondary rebound that pitches a mid-engined car off its line. That keeps the rear tyres planted through the throttle phase, where a 360 has always been a car that rewards a settled platform. Traction increases not because the spring rate is fighting the road, but because the damper is letting the tyre stay in contact with it. Body control over crests and compressions improves in the same motion. The result is a 360 that you can lean on across surfaces that previously demanded you back off.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is engineered around one job: absorbing the jolt of a big bump and suppressing the body movement that follows, so the tyre’s contact patch is re-established as fast as physically possible. Every setting in the kit – spring rate, damper curve, bump and rebound balance – is taken directly from XYZ Racing’s tarmac rally competition experience, not extrapolated from a circuit programme. The valving is tuned to swallow uneven pavement at speed: it gives on the initial compression to protect the chassis and the driver, then recovers cleanly without the unloaded rebound that costs traction on a bumpy exit. Vehicle stability through the resulting calm is what unlocks the handling on roads that would otherwise overwhelm a softer setup or skip a stiffer one. It is a specialist tool for a specialist surface, and the brief shows in every aspect of its construction.

Fitment for the Ferrari F360 (2001-2006)

This kit fits the Ferrari F360 (chassis FE01) across the 2001 to 2006 model years, covering Modena and Spider variants within that production window. Confirm your chassis code and build year against the fitment before ordering, particularly on early-2001 cars where some hardware spec changed in-year.
