XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — BMW 7 SERIES F01/F02 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2015

The F01/F02 7 Series is the last car most people would picture sideways on a Welsh forest stage – which is exactly why this coilover exists as a specialist build rather than an off-the-shelf rally part. The N63 V8 and N74 V12 hang a lot of mass over the nose, the air suspension and EDC dampers were never designed to survive a sustained gravel hammering, and the long 3,070mm wheelbase amplifies every body input the road throws at it.

This XYZ Racing Gravel Rally kit replaces all of that with an inverted-tube, long-stroke coilover engineered for sandstone, snow and silt – and crucially it ships as a cancellation kit, so the F01/F02’s electronic damping module stops throwing fault codes the moment the OE struts come out.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2015 Bmw 7 Series F01/f02 (cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping)

Swap the EDC air-and-electronic setup for a proper mechanical damper and the F01/F02 stops fighting itself. The inverted-tube design moves the bigger, stronger shaft to the bottom, which is where the abuse actually happens on a gravel stage – bottoming over compressions, kerb hits, and the constant shock loading that finishes a conventional twin-tube in a single stage. Long stroke means the wheels can keep tracing the surface instead of skipping over it, so the heavy nose stays loaded under braking and the rear stays planted when you crack the throttle out of a corner.

The cancellation harness is the quiet hero here: no warning lights, no limp mode, no dashboard chaos. You get a 7 Series that sits on a serviceable, rebuildable suspension instead of a sealed comfort system that was never going to see a service park.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is XYZ Racing’s most specialised damper, built specifically for Rally and Rally Cross use where surface conditions are the most aggressive in motorsport. The construction centres on an inverted-tube body, with a long stroke and a matching long spring chosen so the chassis can absorb sustained vibration, soak up high-speed bouncy sections, and survive the lateral G-forces of a committed gravel turn-in without packing down.

XYZ developed the inverted layout specifically to handle changing surfaces inside a single stage – the same set of dampers has to read sandstone one minute and silt or fresh snow the next. Spring rates across the range are not a desk-exercise; XYZ states every rate is tested by working rally teams before it reaches the catalogue, which is the only honest way to spec a gravel car.

Fitment for the Bmw 7 Series F01/f02 (cancellation Kit For Electronic Damping) (2008-2015)

This kit fits the F01 (standard wheelbase) and F02 (long wheelbase) generation 7 Series from 2008 through to the F01/F02 run-out in 2015, chassis code BM123-C. The cancellation harness is included as standard so the factory EDC electronic damping system can be removed cleanly without triggering chassis-control fault codes.

This is a built-to-spec rally damper rather than a shelf item, so spring rate and ride height need to match your stage discipline – configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
  • Iron top mountIronIRONIron upper mount — a heavy-duty housing built to take sustained load where a stronger top mount is required.
