XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Toyota SUPRA JZA80L 1993-1998

The JZA80 Supra was never built for loose surfaces. Its iron-block 2JZ sits well forward, the wheelbase is long, and the kerb weight is closer to a grand tourer than a stage car – which is exactly why throwing one down a gravel special demands suspension built to a different brief entirely. The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Toyota Supra JZA80L (1993-1998) exists to make that nose-heavy platform survive surfaces it was never engineered to see.

This is the rally-specific end of the XYZ range, not a lowered fast-road kit pressed into service. It trades ride height drop and tarmac stiffness for travel, durability and the ability to keep a heavy front end planted when the ground stops being flat.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1998 Toyota Supra JZA80L

On gravel, the JZA80’s forward weight bias wants to wash the front wide the instant grip goes patchy. The long stroke and long spring design keeps the front tyres loaded over crests, ruts and washboard instead of skipping, so you can actually carry the 2JZ’s torque out of a corner rather than feeding it in cautiously. The damping is calibrated to absorb the constant chassis vibration of a stage and then still control the big single hit – a landing, a rock, a compression – without bottoming. The result is a Supra that tracks straight under braking on a broken surface and rotates predictably on the throttle, where a road-biased setup would simply deflect and understeer.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This damper is developed specifically for rally and rallycross, where the surface is the most punishing in motorsport – sandstone, snow and silt all in a single stage. XYZ Racing uses an inverted tube layout to handle that variation, putting the stronger, larger-diameter tube where the bending loads are highest and protecting the working surfaces from grit. The long stroke and tall spring are the core of the design: they give the wheel the room to follow a rough surface and the capacity to soak up high-speed impacts on bouncy roads, while still bearing the extreme G-forces a heavy car generates mid-corner. Every spring rate in the kit has been validated by an XYZ Racing rally team rather than calculated in isolation, so the numbers reflect what actually works on a stage.

Fitment for the Toyota Supra JZA80L (1993-1998)

This kit is matched to the JZA80L chassis Toyota Supra across the 1993 to 1998 model years. It is a fitment-specific application for that platform – confirm your chassis code reads JZA80 before configuring, and check your build matches the year span listed above.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit
