XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S (with hydraulic lift, excl.control system) 2019-2026

The 992 Carrera-4/S is an unusual starting point for a drift build – its PTM all-wheel drive distributes torque across four corners, and the standard PASM damping is calibrated to suppress the rear-engine’s natural oversteer tendency rather than exploit it. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover for the Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S works in the opposite direction: it is built around the discipline of competitive drifting, resetting the 992’s suspension behaviour so that the rear-biased weight distribution becomes an asset rather than something the electronics are quietly managing away.

This fitment is specified for cars equipped with the hydraulic front axle lift. Installing these coilovers means the nose-lift control system will no longer function – for a 992 being prepared as a dedicated drift car, that is an entirely reasonable trade.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S

Lowering ride height brings the 992’s centre of mass closer to the ground, which is significant in a car that carries most of its weight behind the rear axle – body roll under lateral load becomes more predictable at competition angles. The bump stroke calibration is the critical element: with ride height set correctly, the coilover’s travel is balanced to keep the rear tyres in contact through extended slides rather than running hard into bump stop. Stiffer spring rates manage body attitude through the high-speed direction changes that would otherwise produce chassis oscillation across a sustained drift. For a 992 running with the PTM system modified or disabled for competition, a consistent body platform is the foundation everything else is built on.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec is a coilover series designed from the outset for competitive drifting – not a performance road coilover with a different spring rate, but a suspension system built around the specific demands of the discipline. The core design objective is vehicle body stability through high-speed cornering: the geometry and damping calibration help drivers build and hold a precise angle rather than fighting chassis movement mid-slide. Ride height reduction and bump stroke setting are intended to be tuned in combination – XYZ Racing’s approach is to configure both parameters together so that once the height is set for competition use, the available suspension travel is optimised for drift angle control throughout the corner. The result is a coilover that actively contributes to drifting performance beyond passive stance changes.

Fitment for the Porsche 992 CARRERA-4/S (2019-2026)

Built for the Porsche 992 generation (chassis code PO26), this kit covers the CARRERA-4/S from 2019 through 2026. It is confirmed for cars equipped with the hydraulic front axle lift; the lift control system will be non-operational after installation. Buyers should verify their specific build configuration before ordering – factory options and competition modifications vary across the 992 production run.
