XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — Porsche 991 CARRERA-2/S/TURBO (without hydraulic lift system) 2011-2019

The 991’s rear-engine weight distribution – roughly 40 per cent over the front axle, 60 per cent aft – is the defining factor in any 911’s handling character. On loose surfaces, that rearward mass makes rotation under trail braking the easy part; it is traction under power that demands careful management. The XYZ Racing Pro Rally coilover is built specifically for competition use in this architecture, on gravel and snow where the 911’s weight bias can be a weapon or a liability depending entirely on how the suspension is calibrated.

This fitment covers the 2011-2019 991 generation Carrera-2, Carrera-S, and Turbo variants running without the factory Hydraulic Lift System. The HLS exclusion is deliberate: the front-axle lift mechanism occupies the same geometry that a proper rally coilover requires to function correctly. Cars equipped with HLS need a separate solution; this one is for builders working with the cleaner, unencumbered chassis.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2019 Porsche 991 Carrera-2/S/Turbo

On the 991, the stock suspension is built around managing that rear-engine mass within a road-use comfort and behaviour envelope. A rally build inverts those priorities: damper travel, articulation rate, and spring rate all shift to handle unprepared surfaces and repeated hard landings. The Pro Rally accommodates both ends of the amateur-to-professional build spectrum – which matters on the 991 because the bodyshell differs substantially between a road-registered car and a properly prepared competition vehicle with modified wheel arch clearances and repositioned suspension pick-up points. On the Turbo variant’s AWD drivetrain, front-to-rear damper balance becomes the central tuning axis for loose-surface traction management: how the front axle loads up and how quickly the rear re-engages after rotation determines stage pace more directly than any other variable.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Pro Rally occupies a specific and demanding part of the suspension market – gravel and snow competition, where surface conditions change constantly and the damper must absorb unpredictable high-amplitude inputs over entire stages. The range is offered in two distinct configurations. The amateur version mounts directly to the standard 991 bodyshell without modification, giving drivers access to rally-specification damper travel within a road-car chassis envelope. The professional version is engineered for installation after full chassis preparation – where the car has been cut and rebuilt to maximise suspension travel, achieve correct articulation geometry at full droop, and remove the compromises inherent in fitting competition hardware to a production body. Both configurations address the fundamental requirements of gravel and snow driving: controlled body movement, rapid damper response to surface irregularity, and sufficient stroke to maintain tyre contact across rough, uneven stages. This is not a suspension designed for track days or fast-road use.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 Carrera-2/S/Turbo (2011-2019)

The Pro Rally coilover fits the 991 generation Porsche (chassis code PO31), covering Carrera-2, Carrera-S, and Turbo body styles built between 2011 and 2019. Specified for cars without the factory Hydraulic Lift System – check your vehicle’s options list if uncertain. Build configuration (amateur direct-fit or professional prepared-chassis) must be confirmed at the point of order, as the two variants are not interchangeable.

1. Be installed directly with the original chassis. (Amateur type)
2. Be installed after modifying the car body. (Professional type)
