XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Porsche 991 CARRERA-2/S/TURBO (without hydraulic lift system) 2011-2019

The Porsche 991’s rear-engine layout defines how this car moves at the limit – and in competitive drifting, that rearward weight concentration is as much a technical puzzle as an advantage. Getting the chassis to rotate is rarely the challenge; holding a consistent angle through a long, high-speed arc is where suspension setup determines whether a driver scores or spins.

These XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilovers are designed from the outset for competition drifting, not adapted from a road or track-day application. The geometry targets body stability through high-speed directional changes, calibrated to the specific demands of competitive angle work in a rear-engined car.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2019 Porsche 991 CARRERA-2/S/TURBO (without hydraulic lift system)

Correct ride height reduction shifts the 991’s centre of gravity downward and tightens the rotational response – on a car where the engine sits behind the rear axle, that relationship between ride height and handling geometry is particularly direct. The bump stroke calibration is designed for drift use: maintaining rear tyre contact through an extended arc requires different travel management than a front-engine build, and the Drift Spec accounts for that. Body stabilisation through high-speed transitions means the chassis holds a predictable attitude under sustained lateral load rather than shifting weight unpredictably across entries. For the Carrera-2 and Carrera S in RWD configuration, the outcome is a more readable chassis under the pressures of competitive judging.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Drift Spec specifically for drift competition – this is not a sport coilover carrying a secondary use case, but a system built around one discipline. The design objective is body stabilisation during high-speed cornering: the suspension geometry helps drivers achieve and hold a consistent drift angle rather than correcting through each transition. Ride height reduction, managed through proper bump stroke calibration, is central to how the system works – lower the car within the Drift Spec’s intended range and the handling character shifts into a condition suited to competitive drift control. XYZ Racing’s development concentrated on the interaction between reduced ride height and bump stroke management, producing a coilover that brings the 991’s drift responses into a controlled, exploitable condition rather than leaving the rear-engine weight bias as an unpredictable variable.

Fitment for the Porsche 991 CARRERA-2/S/TURBO (without hydraulic lift system) (2011-2019)

These coilovers are built to chassis code PO31, covering Porsche 991 Carrera-2, Carrera S, and Turbo variants from 2011 through 2019. They are specified for 991s without the optional factory hydraulic front-axle lift system – check your options list or build record before ordering if your car may have this feature fitted. The application spans the complete first-generation 991 production run.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
