XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Nissan PRIMERA P11 (Rear Bolt Distance φ90) 1998-2002

The P11-generation Primera earned its reputation the hard way: Nissan’s European engineers tuned this chassis specifically for UK and continental roads, and by 1999 a works Primera was taking Laurent Aiello to the BTCC drivers’ title against grids stacked with purpose-built touring cars. That same multi-link rear end and sharp front turn-in are still under the metal of every road-going P11, and they respond well to a coilover that can actually exploit them rather than just lowering the ride height.

The Circuit Master is built for exactly that: sustained, repeatable lap-time work rather than a single quick blast. On a car whose factory dampers were never asked to survive twenty-minute sessions, this kit gives the Primera P11 the range of adjustment to hold a consistent line lap after session, not just lap one.

What this coilover does for your 1998-2002 Nissan Primera P11

With 9720 damping combinations on tap, you can start soft enough for a road-legal commute and wind the rear up hard for a trackday without swapping components. The P11’s inherent balance means it doesn’t need a radical spring rate to find grip – what it needs is a damper that keeps the tyre in contact through direction changes, and the Circuit Master’s monotube-style circuit is set up to do exactly that. Expect noticeably reduced body roll turning into corners, a rear axle that stays planted under trail-braking, and a ride height you can drop to sharpen the P11’s front-end response without sacrificing the compliance needed for cool-down laps back to the paddock. Because the damping is separated across three adjustment points, front and rear can be balanced independently to dial out the understeer that a nose-heavy family saloon platform can otherwise carry into fast corners.

About the Circuit Master coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Circuit Master as its circuit-specific damper, and it’s the spec its own racing teams run internationally rather than a road kit pressed into track duty. The headline figure is 9720 distinct adjustment combinations, controlled through three separate knobs so compression and rebound can be tuned independently front to rear instead of moving together. That level of resolution comes from a small-orifice oil-passage design inside the damper body – on a rough circuit kerb or a sharp bump you may hear a faint noise as oil moves through the passage, which is a normal side effect of the fine adjustment range rather than a fault. The kit is engineered around circuit use first, so damping response and adjustment granularity are prioritised over the last word in ride comfort – exactly the trade-off a car built for repeated hard laps needs.

Fitment for the Nissan Primera P11 (1998-2002)

This kit is specified for the Nissan Primera P11, chassis code NI28, built between 1998 and 2002. It’s engineered for the rear bolt distance φ90 variant of the P11 rear subframe – check your car’s rear mounting spacing against this spec before ordering, as the P11 range was produced with more than one rear bolt pattern across its production run.
