The Huracan was never built with sealed-stage tarmac rallying in mind. A mid-engined V10 supercar with carbon-ceramic brakes and a dry-sump 5.2-litre lump sitting behind the bulkhead is, on paper, the last thing you want to send down a closed Welsh mountain road peppered with mid-corner crests and patched-up Tarmac. And yet here we are – because a small but determined group of owners are doing exactly that, and the factory dampers were never going to survive it.

This is the XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover built specifically for the LM03 Huracan in both rear-drive LP580-2 and four-wheel-drive LP610-4 / Evo / STO trim, covering the 2014-2026 production run, excluding cars fitted with the factory front-axle lift system. It is a sealed-stage rally damper – not a track coilover with the bump valving softened – and that distinction matters more on this car than on almost anything else in the catalogue.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2026 Lamborghini Huracan

The Huracan’s combination of stiff aluminium-and-carbon-fibre spaceframe and very short suspension travel means the standard magnetic dampers run out of compression stroke the moment the surface gets ugly. The Tarmac Rally damping curve is built to absorb a hit from a compression or a kerb apex without spiking through to the chassis, which keeps the contact patch loaded instead of momentarily airborne. You get rotation on turn-in that the factory car simply will not give you on a broken surface, and the rear (where most of the mass sits) stays settled under power out of slow corners. On the 4WD cars that means the front axle actually does something useful when the centre coupling sends torque forward; on the rear-drive 580-2 it means you can use the throttle to steer the car instead of fighting understeer. Brake stability over mid-corner ripples is where you feel it most.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The damping is developed directly out of XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme, and the settings reflect that lineage rather than circuit-derived numbers being repurposed. The valving is built around absorbing big single impacts – kerbs, compressions, patched-tarmac ridges – while suppressing the secondary body movement that follows, so the tyre stays in contact with the road instead of skipping. Construction follows the standard XYZ Racing recipe of high-pressure gas internals, separately adjustable spring perches and a damper body sized to dissipate heat through a long stage rather than a five-lap sprint. Spring rates and ride height are configurable to the event surface, and the bump/rebound balance is what gives the car its composure when the road stops being smooth.

This kit is for the LM03 Huracan in both 2WD (LP580-2) and 4WD variants (LP610-4, Performante, Evo, Tecnica, STO) across the full 2014-2026 production span.
