XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Honda ACCORD CB1/2/3/4 1989-1993

The CB-chassis Accord is a deceptive thing on a circuit. Light by modern standards, double-wishbones at all four corners, and a wheelbase short enough to rotate cleanly once you stop trusting the factory dampers – but the standard setup runs out of body control about a third of the way into a fast B-road sweep, never mind a 90-second qualifying lap at Cadwell. The XYZ Racing Circuit Master is the spec to fit when a CB1, CB2, CB3 or CB4 Accord stops being a road car and starts being a weekend race car.

This is XYZ’s competition-tier damper, sitting alongside Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally in the range. It is built for sustained circuit work – not a fast-road compromise – and the calibration assumes you are running track rubber, a cage, and a driver who knows where the limit is.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1993 Honda Accord CB1/2/3/4

The Circuit Master gives the CB Accord the body control it was never sold with. Spring rates and damping are matched to circuit loads, so the front end stops collapsing under braking into a hairpin and the rear stays planted as you feed the throttle back in on corner exit. With 9720 combinations of adjustment across the three knobs, the same kit covers a soaking Donington morning and a baked Snetterton afternoon without pulling the car off the trailer to change springs.

Ride height is independent of pre-load on a coilover of this class, so you can drop the car onto its sweet spot, set corner weights, and still have the full stroke of the damper to work with. Turn-in sharpens, mid-corner stability lifts, and the trail-braking window that the CB chassis quietly rewards becomes usable rather than approximate.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s track-only damper, developed and validated by XYZ race teams competing internationally. The headline number is 9720 adjustment combinations, delivered through three separate adjustment knobs – a level of granularity that exists so a driver can isolate bump from rebound and rebalance the car between sessions rather than between events.

A point worth knowing before you fit it: the three-knob layout uses a small-passage oil design. Over sharp road imperfections – sleeping policemen, broken kerbs, expansion joints on cold tarmac – the oil moving through that narrow passage can produce a faint mechanical noise. That is the geometry of the valving, not a fault. The Circuit Master is built for circuit surfaces, where that small-passage design is doing exactly what it was engineered to do: keeping the tyre loaded through transitions that would unsettle a softer, road-biased damper.

Fitment for the Honda ACCORD CB1/2/3/4 (1989-1993)

Direct fitment for the fourth-generation Accord on the CB1, CB2, CB3 and CB4 chassis codes, model years 1989 through 1993. Confirm your chassis code against the VIN plate before ordering – the CB range spans saloon, coupe and Aerodeck bodies, and a 2.0-litre F20A versus 2.2-litre F22A makes no difference to the suspension mounts.
