XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Ferrari 812 (with hydraulic lift system) 2017-2026

The 812 Superfast is a front-mid-engined 6.5-litre V12 with more than 780PS landing on the rear axle, and that physics defines what a coilover for this car has to do. The standard magnetorheological setup is brilliant on a road, but it was never designed for back-to-back hot laps at Mugello or Snetterton with slicks and aero loads working on the shell. The Racing Spec is XYZ’s answer for owners who genuinely use the car at those limits.

Critically, this kit preserves the front-axle hydraulic lift system that 812 owners actually need to leave a circuit car park without scraping the splitter. Lose the lifter and the car stops being usable; keep it, and you have a competition damper that still lives in the real world.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Ferrari 812 (with hydraulic lift system)

The 812’s weight transfer under braking from triple-digit speeds is brutal – the long nose, the heavy V12 cradle, the carbon-ceramic bite all conspire to throw load forward and unsettle the rear. A purpose-tuned damper controls that platform shift so the rear stays planted into turn-in, which is where the standard adaptive setup begins to feel out of its depth on a circuit surface. Spring rate and damping are matched to track tyre grip rather than road compliance, so the car sits flatter through high-speed direction changes like the Esses at Suzuka or Maggotts-Becketts in spirit.

Owners running aggressive camber, stiffer anti-roll bars or stickier rubber will feel the chassis finally responding to those changes instead of being filtered by an OE damper that was calibrated for a different job. Brake stability improves, mid-corner attitude becomes adjustable on throttle, and trail-braking the front axle into a slow corner stops feeling like a leap of faith.

About the Racing Spec coilover

The Racing Spec is XYZ’s competition-only damper, with its settings derived from direct participation in series including the WTCC. It is not a road kit with stiffer springs – the valving, piston design and rebound characteristics are built from the start for slick or semi-slick tyres, kerb strikes and the kind of repeat thermal loading a circuit weekend puts into a damper body.

XYZ also offer a bespoke build path on this product. For 812s running heavily upgraded aero, bigger brakes, alternative wheel and tyre packages or A-class-style modifications, the firm will build custom shock absorbers based on the owner’s spec sheet and the specific circuits the car will be run at. That means a kit configured for the long high-speed sweeps of Spa is not the same kit as one set up for the stop-and-go rhythm of Brands Hatch Indy.

Fitment for the Ferrari 812 (with hydraulic lift system) (2017-2026)

This coilover is built for the FE08-generation Ferrari 812, covering 2017 through 2026 production, in cars originally equipped with the factory front hydraulic lift system. The lift functionality is retained as part of the kit so road-to-paddock usability is unaffected.
