XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ferrari 812 (with hydraulic lift system) Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2017-2026

The 812 Superfast was never meant to leave the tarmac, but the moment an owner commits to closed-stage rally use, the factory magnetorheological dampers and nose-lift hardware become a liability rather than a feature. The electronic damping cannot tolerate the impact loads of a sealed-stage surface, and the hydraulic lift system adds unsprung complication where you want mechanical honesty. This XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover kit replaces both, giving the FE08-C chassis a purpose-set mechanical platform built around the front-mid V12’s weight distribution and the brutal energy that a 6.5-litre, 789bhp front-engined GT puts through its suspension on a closed road.

This is a specific kit – not a fast-road coilover with the badge swapped. The valving and spring choice come straight out of XYZ’s tarmac rally programme, where dampers have to survive crested apexes, kerb strikes and concrete jointing without losing composure on the next braking zone.

What this coilover does for your 2017-2026 Ferrari 812

Swapping the magnetorheological setup for a mechanical coilover transforms how the 812 communicates with the surface. The car stops floating over mid-corner bumps and starts working its tyres through compressions instead of skating across them. Body control under the V12’s weight transfer becomes a thing you can feel and tune, not something a control unit decides for you. Front-end response on turn-in sharpens noticeably because spring rate and rebound are now matched to the actual loaded mass of the nose, and the rear stops wallowing under traction events out of slow corners. Crucially, when you clip an apex kerb or land hard from a crest, the damper absorbs the hit and resets – the chassis is settled before the next input arrives, which is the difference between a clean stage time and a moment you’ll talk about in the service park.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally is a dedicated tarmac-stage damper, not a fast-road compromise. It’s built to absorb the impact of uneven pavement and to soak up the jolt of larger bumps without unsettling the body, suppressing shock through the chassis and keeping the tyre loaded for traction. Vehicle stability under those conditions is the headline output – handling that holds together where electronic systems and street coilovers give up. Every setting in this kit comes directly from XYZ’s own Tarmac Rally race experience, so the spring rates, damper curves and overall geometry envelope are arrived at empirically, on stage, rather than extrapolated from a road-going catalogue. As a cancellation kit for the factory electronic damping, it also unhooks the 812 from its magnetorheological control unit and its hydraulic nose-lift, removing two systems that have no place on a competition car.

Fitment for the Ferrari 812 (2017-2026)

This kit is built specifically for the FE08-C chassis 812 Superfast and 812 GTS, 2017 through 2026. It functions as a direct cancellation kit for cars originally specified with the hydraulic lift system and electronic damping, replacing both with a fully mechanical coilover platform.
