XYZ Racing Pro Rally Coilovers — BMW X4 F26 4WD 2014-2018

The X4 F26’s xDrive layout and raised ride height give it more ground clearance than a 3 Series Touring, but the factory geometry and spring rates were set for motorway comfort and dry-tarmac composure, not loose gravel or packed snow. XYZ Racing’s Pro Rally coilover replaces that setup with hardware built for surfaces that change underneath the car without warning: independent control over ride height, damping and weight transfer instead of a single fixed compromise.

This is the top tier of XYZ’s rally range, aimed at competitors running the X4 in top-flight rally competition rather than a Sunday club stage. Where the entry-level rally kit bolts straight to the original chassis mounting points, the Pro Rally is designed to go in once the body has already been prepped and reinforced for competition – a different starting point that lets the kit run stiffer rates and a wider damping window without punishing an unmodified bodyshell.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2018 BMW X4 F26 4WD

On loose surfaces the X4’s height and weight work against it unless the suspension can control body movement independently of ride height, and that’s the split this kit gives you: set the ground clearance a stage needs without giving up damping control over how the body moves on top of it. Because the AWD system routes power differently under load than a rear-drive chassis, damping that resists squat and dive keeps drivetrain loading predictable through compressions and over crests. Height adjustment lets you set the car up for a rutted forest stage one weekend and a faster open-gravel event the next without swapping springs. The rear end, which carries more static load in the X4’s coupe-SUV body than in the standard X3 it’s based on, gets damping control that keeps the tyre loaded through washboard sections instead of skipping across them.

About the Pro Rally coilover

XYZ splits its gravel and snow suspension range into two distinct types, and the difference is about the car underneath, not just the spec sheet. The lower tier installs straight onto the original chassis mounting points – a sensible route for a car that’s still largely factory-standard. The Pro Rally sits in the second category: a kit designed for a car whose body has already been modified for competition, which means the suspension can run a wider spread of adjustment because it isn’t held back by trying to protect an unmodified shell. In practice that means construction and valving aimed at repeated hard impacts and sustained side loads rather than the odd pothole, with damping and ride-height adjustment kept independent so a team can retune between stages rather than between events. It’s a kit built around the assumption that the car it’s going on has already been prepared to competition standard.

Fitment for the BMW X4 F26 4WD (2014-2018)

This kit is specced for the F26-generation X4 built between 2014 and 2018, covering the xDrive all-wheel-drive layout fitted across the range in this period. Confirm your chassis code (F26) and build year against your V5C before ordering, since suspension geometry differs from the related X3 and from later X4 generations.

Rally gravel/snow suspensions are very professional suspensions and they are designed into two types:

1. Be installed directly with the original chassis. (Amateur type)
2. Be installed after modifying the car body. (Professional type)

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
