XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — BMW X3 F25 4WD (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2010-2017

The F25 X3 was never built to be flung down a sealed stage. Two tonnes of xDrive SUV with factory electronic damping is a brief that fights the rally driver at every direction change – body roll arrives early, the dampers go soft when you need them tight, and the EDC ECU keeps trying to reinterpret what your right foot just asked for. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the Bmw X3 F25 was developed to silence that argument.

This is a stage-spec setup with the electronic damping cancellation kit bundled in, so the F25’s factory EDC module is taken out of the loop entirely and the chassis answers only to what you’ve wound into the dampers. The remit is sealed-stage tarmac work in a 4WD platform that has the traction to use it.

What this coilover does for your 2010-2017 Bmw X3

On a tall, heavy chassis like the F25, the gain you feel first is body control. Vertical movement through compressions stops being a slow heave and becomes a single, controlled stroke – which is the difference between a confident apex commitment and lifting mid-corner because the nose pitched. Turn-in sharpens because the coilover is doing the work the soft factory setup wasn’t, and the cancellation kit means none of that input gets re-softened by the EDC strategy at part-throttle.

Over broken tarmac the kit absorbs the hit instead of skipping the contact patch off the surface, so the front axle keeps biting and the rear quattro-style xDrive split actually has a tyre underneath it to push against. Ride height comes down, the visual stance follows, and trail-braking into a slow third-gear hairpin stops feeling like you’re asking an SUV to do something it doesn’t want to.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally series is XYZ’s stage-bias damper, drawn directly from settings the company runs on its own tarmac rally programme. The damping strategy is built around impact absorption on uneven sealed surfaces – large intrusions are swallowed without unsettling the body, vehicle pitch is suppressed under hard braking and acceleration, and the tyre is held in contact with the road across surface changes that would put a road-biased coilover off line.

The headline behaviour is tractive: by suppressing the shock loads that lift the contact patch, the kit increases what the tyre can put down through the surface, which on a 4WD chassis like the F25 translates straight into exit speed. Settings on this Bmw X3 F25 4WD application are lifted from XYZ’s stage experience rather than guessed at on a road-car spring chart. The cancellation kit for the electronic damping is included in the box – it disables the factory EDC signal so the coilover damping is the only damping the car sees.

Fitment for the Bmw X3 (2010-2017)

This coilover is built specifically for the F25-generation Bmw X3 in 4WD specification with factory electronic damping, chassis code BM79-C, across the 2010 to 2017 production run. The electronic damping cancellation kit is included so the factory EDC system is bypassed at installation.
