The G11/G12 7 Series is an unusual drift starting point – two-tonne flagship limousine, long wheelbase, double-wishbone front, five-link rear, and on most UK cars an air-sprung back end that was never meant to see a clipping point. After the ride height is set and the bump stroke is dialled in for the platform, the kit is built to put steering input, throttle and counter-steer in a window the driver can actually work with. Construction follows XYZ’s adjustable-damping coilover format, and the damping window is set up to cope with the repeated heavy loading drifting puts through the suspension at lock. The brief from the factory is simple: hold the body flat, hold the angle, and let the driver concentrate on line.
