XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — BMW 7 SERIES F01/F02 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2015

The F01/F02 7 Series carries the better part of two tonnes high and centrally, and from the factory it rides on Electronic Damping Control that constantly second-guesses what you want at the line. For a standing-start car that is exactly the wrong instinct: you need the rear axle to squat and stay loaded, not a control unit softening and stiffening on its own schedule. This XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover replaces that whole compromise with a fixed, deliberate rate, and it ships with the cancellation kit that stops the F01/F02’s EDC module from logging a fault once the original electronic struts are gone.

This is a single-purpose setup for the 0-400 launch, not a fast-road all-rounder. On a heavy rear-drive 7 Series – whether you are running a 740i, the N63 750i, or the V12 760i – the gain is in how cleanly that mass plants the driven tyres off the line.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2015 BMW 7 Series F01/F02

Set ride height and corner balance for the strip and the car launches the way a drag car should: weight shifting rearward the instant the clutch or torque converter loads, pressing the rear tyres into the surface instead of spinning them. That controlled transfer is the whole point – more compression on the driven axle means less wheelspin and a shorter window of wasted revs before the car actually moves. Through the lights you keep the high-speed stability a 1900kg saloon needs, where a softer self-levelling setup would let the body float. Removing EDC also takes weight and a layer of electronic lag out of the corner, and the cancellation kit keeps the dash clear of suspension warnings.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing builds this series specifically for 0-400 metre drag work across FWD, RWD and 4WD platforms, and the F01/F02 fitment is the rear-drive case. The damping and spring philosophy is tuned around instant weight movement between the front and rear axles as the car launches, deliberately forcing greater compression onto the driven tyres to cut the idle time where a wheel spins rather than drives. The result is a car that hooks up harder at the hit and then holds a stable line as speed builds down the strip. Height-adjustable spindles let you square the corner weights and set a launch-specific stance. The included electronic-damping cancellation kit is integral to the package, letting the coilover work on an F01/F02 without fighting the original EDC hardware.

Fitment for the BMW 7 Series F01/F02 (2008-2015)

Engineered for the F01 (standard wheelbase) and F02 (long wheelbase) 7 Series, chassis BM123-C, across the full 2008 to 2015 production run. This is the variant supplied with the cancellation kit for cars originally fitted with Electronic Damping Control, so the factory EDC struts are replaced outright rather than retained.

Square the corner weights, set your launch height and configure your spec below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
  • Iron top mountIronIRONIron upper mount — a heavy-duty housing built to take sustained load where a stronger top mount is required.
