XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — BMW 6 SERIES E63 / E64 M6 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2004-2010

The E63 M6 was sold as a grand tourer with a screaming S85 V10 strapped to the nose, and the factory EDC (Electronic Damper Control) was BMW’s compromise between continent-crossing comfort and the body control that 500bhp deserves. Once those EDC struts start leaking – and on an 04-10 car, they have – replacement at main-dealer prices is genuinely eye-watering. This is the conversion that gets you off that platform for good.

The XYZ Racing Top Sport coilover for the BMW 6 Series E63 / E64 M6 ships with the cancellation kit needed to retire the original EDC module without throwing a fault. You get back the handling discipline a 1,710kg V10 coupe should have always had, plus the option to actually adjust it.

What this coilover does for your 2004-2010 BMW 6 Series E63 / E64 M6

The Top Sport spec runs roughly 30 to 50 percent more damping force than a street setting, with spring rates stepped up around 2kg/mm over passive road kit. On an E63 M6 that means the nose stops diving into the front bump stops under heavy braking from triple-figure speeds, and the rear stops squatting when the V10 lights up out of a corner. Mid-corner the chassis settles earlier, so you can get back on throttle sooner and let the diff do its work instead of fighting weight transfer.

With the EDC cancellation kit fitted, the dash stays clean and the ride height comes down to whatever sits right over your wheel and tyre package. Damping is on the strut, so you can soften it for the A-road home and firm it for the morning of a track day.

About the Top Sport coilover

Top Sport is XYZ Racing’s track-day-capable, road-driveable spec – the setting derived directly from XYZ’s own race programme but wound back to a rate a 6 Series owner can live with on the commute. The platform is built to absorb genuine pavement insult: broken expansion joints, ridged tarmac, the kind of mid-corner bump that unsettles a heavier car. The damping characteristic is tuned to suppress secondary body movement after a hit, which keeps the tyre loaded rather than skipping. The result is more usable mechanical grip in conditions short of a perfectly billiard-flat circuit. XYZ describes the spec as suitable for track day and aggressive driving, and the construction reflects that: a strut designed to take heat cycling without fade on a Bedford or a Cadwell afternoon.

Fitment for the BMW 6 Series E63 / E64 M6 (2004-2010)

Listed against the BMW 6 Series E63 coupe and E64 cabriolet M6, chassis code BM47-C, for the full 2004 to 2010 V10 production run. The included EDC cancellation kit is what makes this kit chassis-specific – it replaces the factory Electronic Damper Control hardware so the warning light stays off after the swap.
