XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 5 SERIES E39 4/6 CYL excl. Wagon 1995-2003

The E39 5 Series carries its weight low and long between the axles, and on a stock setup that mass takes a beat to transfer when you snap the throttle mid-corner. The Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built specifically to close that gap, giving you a chassis that breaks traction on command and holds an angle rather than fighting you back to straight-ahead.

Whether you’re running the 4-cylinder saloon or the six-pot, the E39’s factory ride height and soft damping were never tuned for sustained yaw. This kit drops the car, firms the platform, and hands the driver a suspension that reacts the way a drift car needs to.

What this coilover does for your 1995-2003 BMW 5 SERIES E39 4/6 CYL excl. Wagon

Lowering the ride height with the correct bump stroke changes how the E39 loads its outside tyre through a slide, and that’s the difference between a controlled angle and a snap spin. The 3-way adjustment knobs let you tune compression and rebound independently front to rear, so you can balance the car’s rotation against how much lock and throttle you’re carrying. Because the internals are calibrated for repeated high-slip-angle driving rather than one-off track laps, the damping holds its character run after run instead of fading once the oil gets hot. On the E39’s longer wheelbase, that stability matters more than it does on shorter cars – small rear-end corrections translate quickly into big angle changes, and predictable damping is what keeps that correctable.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This is a suspension built around one job: stabilising the car’s body through high-speed direction changes so the driver can hold a clean angle rather than correct a wandering one. The 3-adjustment-knob layout uses a small-oil-hole design internally, which means oil is deliberately routed through a narrower passage under hard compression – on rough sections of track you may hear a faint noise from the damper as it works, which is a normal by-product of that design and not a fault. Once the ride height is set with the correct bump stroke for the E39’s suspension geometry, the improvement in drift control becomes obvious versus stock. The kit is built for circuit and track-day use, where repeated bumps and kerb strikes are a given rather than an occasional event, so the damper doesn’t need babying between sessions.

Fitment for the BMW 5 SERIES E39 4/6 CYL excl. Wagon (1995-2003)

Fits the E39-chassis 5 Series across both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine variants for the 1995 to 2003 model years. This application covers saloon models only – wagon (Touring) variants are excluded from this fitment. Confirm your engine variant and chassis code against your V5 before ordering.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
