The E39 5 Series carries its weight low but long, and that wheelbase wants to roll into a corner rather than snap into one. Left on tired factory dampers, the nose dives under trail-braking and the rear struggles to keep the outside tyre loaded through a fast direction change – exactly the moment a circuit session punishes a soft chassis. Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s dedicated sustained-lap-time platform, built for exactly this kind of repeated-load abuse rather than a single spirited b-road drive.
On the saloon and coupe body (this fitment excludes the Touring), that means a monotube damper that can be set hard enough for a track day and still be walked back for the drive home, without the compromises a fixed-rate spring and shock combination forces on you.
What this coilover does for your 1995-2003 Bmw 5 Series E39 4/6 CYL excl. Wagon
Dropping ride height and adding proper spring rate front and rear cuts the pitch and roll that makes the E39 feel like it’s still settling as you’re already turning in. With 9720 damping combinations on tap through the kit’s 3 adjustment knobs, you can separate compression and rebound control instead of chasing one dial for both – softening low-speed compression over kerbs while keeping high-speed rebound tied down through fast direction changes. That range matters on a 4-cylinder E39 running smaller footprint tyres as much as it does on a 6-cylinder car carrying more weight over the front axle; both benefit from a chassis that stops loading and unloading a beat after your inputs. The result on track is a car that changes direction when you ask it to, and a front end that stays planted enough under braking to trust the point you’re turning in at.
About the Circuit Master coilover
Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s range, developed and run by XYZ’s own racing teams across multiple circuit disciplines internationally before it reaches a road car. The monotube damper body is tuned around that competition use, with independent adjustment across 9720 combinations delivered through the 3 external knobs – enough range to move from a soft trailing-throttle setup to a stiff, flat-cornering track configuration on the same kit. One characteristic worth knowing: the small oil-passage design behind those knobs can produce a faint noise over larger bumps as damping fluid moves through the restricted channel. That’s a function of the fine-adjustment engineering, not a fault, and it’s not something a circuit-focused setup needs to compromise on to eliminate.
Fitment for the Bmw 5 Series (1995-2003)
This kit is built for the E39-generation 5 Series (chassis code BM22), covering both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder saloon and coupe variants from 1995 to 2003. It is not designed for the Touring/wagon body style, which uses a different rear geometry.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Front
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
Rear
AluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
