XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Toyota GR YARIS GXPA16 4WD (Modified Rear Integrated) 2024-2026

The GR Yaris GXPA16’s GR-FOUR all-wheel-drive system was built to put power down over broken surfaces, but the factory dampers weren’t specified for the stroke length or shaft speed that a proper gravel stage demands. Land a compression event at speed on a rutted forest road and a standard damper runs out of travel before the chassis has finished moving.

XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally coilover is built specifically for that brief. It’s aimed at gravel-stage rally and rallycross use, not road driving, and it treats the GR Yaris’s short wheelbase and rearward torque bias as the starting point for the valving rather than an afterthought.

What this coilover does for your 2024-2026 Toyota GR Yaris

Fit this to a GXPA16 and the biggest change you’ll feel is how the car absorbs consecutive hits without packing down. The long-stroke damper and long spring combination is there to soak up chassis vibration from washboard and rutted surfaces before it reaches the driver, so the GR-FOUR system keeps finding traction instead of skipping across the top of the surface. Under the compression loads of landing off a crest or catching a hidden dip, the extra shaft travel gives the rear axle somewhere to go rather than transmitting the hit straight into the subframe. Cornering loads on loose surfaces generate G-forces that a road-biased damper simply isn’t built to control repeatedly; this unit is speced to take that loading run after run on a stage without the damping characteristic drifting.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

This is a rally-specific design, not a road coilover with firmer springs bolted on. XYZ Racing uses an inverted tube layout so the damper can be tuned differently for the range of surfaces a rally car actually sees – sandstone, snow, and silt each load a shock differently, and the inverted construction is what lets one damper design cope with that spread rather than compromising for one surface type. The long-stroke, long-spring architecture is the other half of the brief: it’s there specifically to deal with chassis vibration under sustained high-speed running over bouncy, broken ground and the extreme G-force loading generated when a rally car is turned in hard on loose surface. XYZ Racing sets the spring rates using data from its own Rally Racing team, so the base configuration reflects what’s actually needed on a stage rather than a generic recommendation.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
