XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Toyota GR YARIS GXPA16 4WD (Modified Rear Integrated) 2020-2024

The GR Yaris GXPA16’s GR-FOUR system splits torque front to rear through a genuine rally-bred driveline, and that hardware only earns its keep if the suspension can put the power down over broken tarmac stage surfaces rather than smooth showroom tarmac. Sealed-stage rally roads throw up crests, camber changes and patched repairs at speed, and a road-biased spring rate gets caught out the first time the nose loads up mid-corner. This kit is built specifically for that environment.

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover for the GR Yaris addresses the two things that actually decide a stage time: keeping the tyre in contact with a surface that never stays flat, and stopping the chassis from ballooning over compressions that a standard damper simply can’t process quickly enough.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2024 Toyota GR Yaris

Fitted to the GXPA16’s short wheelbase and narrow three-door track, the damping is set up to control body movement without turning the ride brittle over broken surfaces – the GR Yaris punishes anything too stiff because there’s so little wheelbase to absorb pitch. The valving is tuned to soak up the jolt from a big compression or a mid-corner ridge without transmitting it straight into the chassis, which keeps the GR-FOUR system’s torque split working with a tyre that’s still loaded on the road rather than skipping across it. That translates directly into steering response you can trust on a stage you’ve only seen once, and a rear axle that stays settled enough for the AWD system to actually apportion drive where it’s needed. Height and damping adjustment let you set the car for a specific stage’s surface rather than a generic setting, which matters on a car this reliant on chassis balance for its four-wheel-drive traction to count for anything.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

This damper is built around XYZ Racing’s tarmac rally programme, with valving and spring rates carried over directly from stage experience rather than derived from road-car data. The construction is aimed squarely at absorbing impact from uneven, patched and cambered tarmac – the kind of surface a sealed stage throws at a car lap after lap of a route, not a circuit. Where a track-focused damper might prioritise flat-surface response, this unit is calibrated to suppress body shock over big hits while keeping the contact patch loaded, which is what actually holds traction on broken tarmac. The result is a chassis that stays composed and predictable through the kind of surface changes a rally stage guarantees, giving the driver a consistent platform to read rather than one that shifts character corner to corner.
