XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Toyota GR YARIS GXPA16 4WD (Modified Rear Integrated) 2020-2024

The GXPA16’s GR-FOUR system pushes torque through a variable front-to-rear split and, in Track mode, biases hard towards the rear axle – which means the rear end of a Toyota GR Yaris does more work under power than almost anything else in its class. Stock dampers weren’t built to control that load transfer at the limit, and the standard-length wheelbase means weight shifts fast in either direction. XYZ Racing’s Racing Spec coilover is the fixed-rate, track-only end of the range, built for owners who take their GR Yaris onto a circuit and treat lap times as the point.

This is the same damper family XYZ Racing has run in WTCC, with valving derived directly from that programme rather than adapted from a road-car base tune. For a GXPA16 already running slicks, aero, or a stripped interior, it’s the setup that matches the rest of the build rather than being the compromise in an otherwise serious car.

What this coilover brings to your 2020-2024 Toyota GR Yaris

Fixed high-rate springs and a monotube damper hold the GR-FOUR platform flat under the rear-biased torque delivery, so power doesn’t get wasted on body roll before it reaches the tyre. Front-end response sharpens through direction changes, which matters on a chassis this short – the GXPA16 changes attitude quickly, and a Racing Spec setup lets you use that instead of fighting it. Ride height drops to a proper track stance, lowering the centre of gravity and tightening the geometry window the GR-FOUR system was designed to exploit. Braking stability improves too: less dive under the compact wheelbase’s naturally quick weight transfer means the front axle stays loaded and predictable into corner entry. None of this is tuned for comfort – it’s tuned for consistency lap after the tyres go off, not for the drive home.

About the Racing Spec coilover

Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s dedicated circuit-race damper, built specifically for track competition rather than fast-road use, with settings pulled from the company’s own participation in WTCC. That racing-derived valving is fixed rather than broad-range adjustable, because a car doing serious lap work doesn’t need a compromise curve – it needs the curve that works. For GR Yaris owners running genuinely aggressive builds – full aero, factory-style competition modifications, or an A-class racing specification – XYZ Racing also offers custom-valved shock absorbers built around your specific car. That means sending over what’s already been upgraded on the GXPA16 and which circuit it’s aimed at, so the damper can be built to match rather than guessed at. It’s the same approach XYZ Racing takes with the vehicles it fields directly in competition, applied to a customer’s own GR Yaris.

Fitment for the Toyota GR Yaris (2020-2024)

This kit is built for the GXPA16-chassis Toyota GR Yaris across the 2020-2024 model years, in 4WD Modified Rr Integrated configuration, chassis code TO63-4. It’s matched to the GR-FOUR drivetrain layout and the rear suspension mounting used on this specific build spec, not a generic hot-hatch damper adapted to fit.
