XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Subaru FORESTER SJ 4WD 2012-2018

The Forester SJ’s raised crossover stance and permanent symmetrical AWD layout are not what most drift builds start from, which is exactly why the suspension geometry matters more here than on a standard RWD platform. Left at stock ride height, the SJ’s centre of gravity and body roll work against the driver the moment the car is put sideways at speed.

The Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that problem specifically for competitive drifting. Dropping the ride height and reworking the bump stroke gives the Forester SJ a lower, flatter body during high-speed direction changes, so the car holds a controlled slide angle instead of wallowing through the transition.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2018 Subaru Forester SJ 4WD

Lowering the SJ’s ride height on this kit tightens up the body control that a factory-height AWD crossover simply doesn’t have when it’s loaded up mid-drift. The three external adjustment knobs let you set compression and rebound independently, so you can trim the car’s rotation to suit how the Forester’s AWD system is splitting power front to rear rather than fighting it. A tuned bump stroke keeps the chassis composed as weight transfers hard through initiation and catch, which on a taller SJ body is where uncontrolled pitch usually kills the angle. The result on track is a Forester that changes direction with less body movement and holds its line through a slide instead of standing up early.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This is a coilover built specifically for drift competition rather than adapted from a road or circuit-lap design. Its internal layout is engineered to stabilise the body through fast, high-load direction changes so the car can be steered to a controlled angle rather than reacting unpredictably to weight transfer. Combined with a lowered ride height and a purpose-set bump stroke, it sharpens how directly the chassis responds once the car is loaded sideways. Damping oil is routed through a small-bore passage at each of the three adjustment knobs, which keeps the response consistent across repeated hard inputs during a session; on rougher surfaces this can produce a faint mechanical noise as oil passes through that small passage, which is normal and not a fault. Because it’s built for circuit-track use, where surfaces are smoother than the road, that characteristic rarely shows up in practice.

Fitment for the Subaru Forester SJ 4WD (2012-2018)

Fits the Subaru Forester SJ 4WD, chassis code SU03-1, across the 2012 to 2018 production run. Confirm your Forester is the 4WD SJ generation before ordering, as coilover geometry is specific to this drivetrain and chassis code.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
