XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz E CLASS COUPE C207 8 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2009-2017

Getting a two-tonne V8 Coupe sideways and holding it there is a weight-transfer problem before it’s a driver-skill problem, and that is exactly what the Drift Spec coilover is built to solve on the E-Class Coupe C207. This kit replaces the factory electronically-damped strut entirely, so the car’s body control stops being negotiated by a control module and starts being set by you, at the corner.

For the C207 8-cylinder specifically, that swap matters because the factory adaptive damping is tuned for comfort-biased touring, not for the sustained, deliberately-induced slip angles that competitive drifting demands. The cancellation kit clears the electronic damping fault codes that would otherwise light up the dash the moment the original sensors are removed.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2017 Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe

Ride height comes down and stays fixed at whatever the driver sets it to, rather than drifting with load the way an air- or electronically-damped setup can. On a heavy rear-drive Coupe, that fixed, lowered stance shifts the roll centre and lets the chassis load up faster and more predictably as the rear steps out under power. Locking the bump stroke properly is the key variable here: get that stroke set correctly for the car’s weight and the body stops pitching and wallowing mid-slide, so the transition from grip to slip happens where the driver expects it, not a beat later. That predictability is what actually lets a driver hold an angle through a longer corner instead of chasing the car back straight every few metres. Because the electronic damper hardware is removed rather than worked around, there’s no control unit intervening mid-corner to soften or stiffen the ride against the driver’s intent.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built this specifically around competition drift use rather than adapting a road or track-day design. The stated goal is stabilising the body through high-speed direction changes so the car settles into a clean, controllable angle instead of hunting for one. Beyond the angle control itself, the geometry is aimed at drift performance more broadly – the way the car initiates, transitions, and holds through a combo. The bump stroke is the tuning lever: set correctly for ride height and vehicle weight, it’s what XYZ Racing describes as taking drift control to its best condition, rather than leaving the chassis to fight the driver’s inputs. On the C207, that means a kit designed to replace an OE damping system that was never meant for this kind of use in the first place, with the cancellation kit handling the electronics side of that removal cleanly.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe (2009-2017)

This kit is specified for the C207-chassis E-Class Coupe, 8-cylinder models, built between 2009 and 2017, and includes the cancellation kit required where the car left the factory with electronic damping control. Confirm your car sits within this chassis code and year span before ordering, since the electronic-damping cancellation hardware is specific to vehicles built with that system fitted.

Configure your Drift Spec setup for the C207 below to match ride height and bump stroke to how you actually intend to drive it.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
