XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz E CLASS COUPE C207 8 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2009-2017

The C207 E-Class Coupe’s V8 variants come from the factory with AMG RIDE CONTROL electronic damping, a system tuned around comfort curves that were never built for repeated laps. Fitting passive coilovers to this chassis means dealing with that system first, which is why this kit includes the cancellation hardware needed to take the electronic damping control unit out of the loop so the car runs the new dampers cleanly instead of throwing fault codes on the dash.

Racing Spec is the XYZ Racing tier built for exactly that scenario: an 8-cylinder E-Class Coupe going onto a circuit or into time-attack use, not a fast-road commute. It replaces a comfort-first factory setup with a damper built around what a track session actually asks of the car, lap after session, corner after corner.

What this coilover kit does for your 2009-2017 Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe

An 8-cylinder C207 carries a lot of weight over the front axle, and that mass moves under braking and trail-braking in ways the standard AMG RIDE CONTROL setup is tuned to soften rather than control. Once the electronic damping is cancelled out and the Racing Spec unit is in, that same weight transfer becomes something the driver can read and use instead of fight. Turn-in sharpens because the front end stops wallowing on initial load, and the rear stays settled through direction changes instead of playing catch-up with a system built for boulevard driving. Braking stability improves too, because the chassis stops pitching independently of what the driver is asking it to do mid-corner. The net result on a heavy coupe like this is a car that puts its power down and changes direction the way its size doesn’t naturally suggest it should.

About the Racing Spec coilover

Racing Spec dampers are built specifically for wheel-to-wheel and time-attack racing, with base settings drawn from XYZ Racing’s own participation in circuit series including the WTCC. That racing background is where the valving starts, rather than a generic road-tuned baseline softened for comfort. For cars carrying more aggressive supporting modifications, XYZ Racing also offers a bespoke build path: send over the detail of what else has been changed on the car and which circuit it runs, and a custom-valved shock absorber can be specified around that exact combination rather than a one-size damper.
