XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz E CLASS COUPE C207 8 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2009-2017

The C207 E-Class Coupe’s V8 is a lot of nose weight to manage the moment a stage surface turns to broken tarmac, and the factory electronic damping system is tuned for a road car, not repeated compression cycles over ridges and camber changes. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover swaps that setup out entirely, replacing it with a damper built specifically to absorb hard, repeated hits without the body wallowing afterwards.

This kit includes the cancellation solution for the C207’s electronic damping control, so the 8-cylinder E-Class Coupe runs on a fixed mechanical damper instead of fighting the factory ECU for authority over ride height and compression. For a heavy, powerful coupe pushed hard over uneven stage roads, that’s the difference between a chassis that settles and one that’s still reacting to the last bump when the next one arrives.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2017 Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe

Fitted to a 2009-2017 E Class Coupe, this damper is built to soak up the impact of uneven pavement rather than transmit it into the chassis. Across bigger compressions – a crest, a pothole repair, a mid-corner ridge – it suppresses body shock so the rear axle keeps its tyres loaded and gripping instead of skipping. That matters on a car this heavy: once the body starts moving independently of the wheels, traction goes with it, and on a sealed-stage tarmac event you don’t get a second run at the same corner. Keeping the tyre’s contact patch working through those hits is what lets the C207 carry speed into the next section rather than backing off to let things settle.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally line is built around one job: surviving a sealed-stage tarmac event without the damper backing off partway through. The valving is set to take a big hit – a bump, a broken edge, a camber change – and control the rebound afterwards so the body doesn’t keep moving once the wheel has already settled. That’s a different requirement to a fast-road or track-day damper, where surface changes are smoother and more predictable; rally stages are not, and the settings here reflect XYZ Racing’s own rally programme rather than a generic circuit tune. On the C207 platform specifically, the cancellation kit for the electronic damping control means the car isn’t trying to run two damping strategies at once – the factory system is fully out of the loop, and the mechanical damper is doing all the work.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz E Class Coupe (2009-2017)

Built for the C207-chassis E-Class Coupe, 8-cylinder, produced 2009 to 2017, and specifically for cars fitted with the factory electronic damping system – this kit’s cancellation hardware replaces that control rather than running alongside it. Confirm your car carries the electronic damping option before ordering, since the standard mechanical-damper C207 coilover is a different part.
