XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Ford FOCUS ST HATCHBACK (Modified Rear Integrated) 2019-2026

The Focus ST’s front-wheel-drive layout puts every bit of power the turbocharged engine sends down through the same two contact patches that also have to steer, so a stage that snaps from a fast crest into a tightening left-hander punishes any car whose front end can’t settle in time. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilovers are built for exactly that discipline – sealed-stage events on closed public roads, where crests, compressions and mid-corner bumps arrive at speed with none of a circuit’s smoothed-off kerbs to soften them.

For the FO29-chassis Focus ST Hatchback in modified Rr Integrated spec, that means a damper tuned to absorb a hard hit without kicking the body sideways, so the front axle keeps loading evenly through a stage instead of skating over the next crest unsettled.

What this coilover kit does for your 2019-2026 Ford Focus ST Hatchback (modified Rr Integrated)

On a sealed tarmac stage the surface changes character every few hundred metres – fresh asphalt, patched sections, a crest with a dip on the far side – and the ST’s front end needs a damper that can shrug off a hard hit without unsettling the chassis mid-corner. That’s the specific job this kit does: it soaks up the jolt from a big compression, keeps the impact isolated from the body shell, and holds the front tyres flat to the road so the contact patch stays loaded through the transition instead of skipping. Through the front-wheel-drive Focus ST’s power delivery, that shows up as cleaner traction out of hairpins, where torque steer is usually the first thing to unsettle a stage-driven car. The modified Rr Integrated rear geometry benefits the same way, staying planted rather than stepping wide over broken surfaces mid-stage.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line specifically for closed-road stage events run on asphalt rather than gravel, where the surface is fast but rarely flat. The valving is calibrated to deal with uneven pavement – broken edges, patched repairs, mid-corner ridges – by absorbing a hard-edged jolt before it reaches the body shell, rather than transmitting it straight into the chassis the way a stiffer track-only setup would. That control over the shock is what keeps the tyre’s contact patch loaded through a compression instead of the wheel skipping off the surface, which is where a stage car actually finds or loses time. The damping settings on this kit come directly from XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme, developed through stage mileage rather than a bench figure alone, and are built around holding the car’s line and composure stage after stage of a multi-stage event without the driver having to compensate for an unsettled rear axle.

Fitment for the Ford Focus ST Hatchback (modified Rr Integrated) (2019-2026)

This kit is built specifically for the FO29-chassis Focus ST Hatchback in modified Rr Integrated rear-suspension configuration, covering the 2019-2026 model years. Confirm your Focus ST is the modified Rr Integrated variant before ordering – XYZ Racing lists this rear geometry as a distinct fitment from the standard integrated-link rear end.
