XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES G26 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL 2020-2026

The G26 4 Series Gran Coupe brings something rare to drift builds: a five-door liftback body on the CLAR platform, offered with both rear-wheel and xDrive drivetrains, and a kerb weight that punishes any suspension not set up to control body roll at speed. XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec range specifically to hold that mass flat through the transition from grip to slide.

This is coilover engineering for competitive drifting, not fast-road comfort. The damping and spring combination is tuned to stabilise the body during high-speed direction changes, so the car settles into the angle the driver is asking for rather than fighting it.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 BMW 4 Series G26 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL

Drop the G26 onto Drift Spec coilovers and the first thing you feel is how much less the body pitches under weight transfer during a clutch-kick or feint. Lowering the ride height with the correct bump stroke set for this chassis keeps the wheel travel where it needs to be through a committed slide, instead of running out of shock stroke mid-corner. Both the RWD and xDrive versions of the G26, in 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder form, get the same benefit: the coilover stops the body from wallowing while the rear end steps out, so the car holds the line the driver chose rather than one the suspension picked for them. That control matters more on a Gran Coupe than on a shorter coupe body, since the extra wheelbase and mass amplify any delay in body control once the car starts rotating.

About the Drift Spec coilover

The Drift Spec platform is built around one job: keeping the body stable through sustained, high-speed rotation, a load case that a fast-road coilover simply isn’t set up for. The valving and spring rate are set so the car can be lowered to a genuinely aggressive ride height without losing the bump stroke a drift car needs when it loads up mid-slide. XYZ Racing’s own description of the range is direct about the target: it’s built to help drivers hold the vehicle body steady through fast, committed turns and to get the angle right rather than approximate. Once the ride height is set correctly for the available stroke, the difference shows up as more predictable transitions between grip and slide rather than a sudden snap. For a platform like the G26, where the factory suspension was never designed with drift geometry in mind, that adjustability is what turns the car from a curiosity on a drift day into something that can actually be driven on the limit consistently.

Fitment for the BMW 4 Series G26 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL (2020-2026)

This kit is built specifically for the G26-chassis BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, covering both the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine variants and both rear-wheel-drive and xDrive four-wheel-drive configurations across the 2020-2026 model years. Confirm your specific G26 variant (2WD or 4WD, 4- or 6-cylinder) when ordering, as the drivetrain layout affects rear geometry.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.
