XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES G26 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL 2020-2026

The G26 Gran Coupe carries more car than the three-box 3 Series it shares its CLAR platform with – a longer wheelbase, a fastback roofline, and on both 2WD and 4WD 4/6cyl variants, extra mass sitting further from each corner than a factory damper was ever tuned to control at ten-tenths. That extra weight has to be managed through the same contact patch a lighter saloon uses, which is exactly where a road-biased spring and damper combination runs out of ideas first.

Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s dedicated circuit and time-attack platform, built for owners who intend to actually lap this 4 Series rather than park it up for photos. It swaps the standard car’s comfort-oriented compliance for a damper calibrated from real circuit competition, not softened down from a road setup.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 BMW 4 Series G26 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL

Fitted to a G26, this coilover controls the extra body mass of the Gran Coupe shell through corner entry and mid-corner load transfer, keeping the tyre working instead of the suspension absorbing the hit. On 2WD 4/6cyl cars, tighter damper control over the rear axle helps put power down cleanly out of slow corners without the chassis stepping wide; on 4WD variants, it holds the nose flatter under trail braking so the xDrive system has a settled platform to distribute torque through rather than compensating for body movement. Ride height is adjustable, letting you correct the G26’s factory stance and drop the centre of gravity to suit a circuit-focused setup rather than a showroom one. The result is a car that turns in on command and stays composed when a lighter, shorter-wheelbase 3 Series would already be moving around underneath the driver.

About the Racing Spec coilover

Racing Spec is the damper XYZ Racing builds specifically for racetrack use, with its baseline tune drawn from the brand’s involvement in WTCC competition rather than adapted from a road-going product. That racing pedigree means the valving is set up to work under sustained, repeated cornering load – the exact demand a track day or time-attack session places on a car, and very different from the occasional B-road blast a standard coilover is designed around. For G26 owners running more aggressive modifications – a heavily built engine, aero, or a car close to factory racing specification – XYZ Racing also offers a bespoke shock absorber build. Supplying details of your car’s upgraded parts and the circuit you intend to run lets XYZ Racing’s engineers tailor the damper specifically to that combination, rather than fitting a generic track setting to a heavily modified car.

Fitment for the BMW 4 Series G26 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL (2020-2026)

This kit is built for the BMW 4 Series G26, chassis code BM122, covering both 2WD and 4WD drivetrains across 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine variants from 2020 to 2026. Confirm your car matches this chassis code and drivetrain configuration before ordering, as G26 suspension geometry differs between the 2WD and xDrive-equipped versions.
