XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES G22 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) 2020-2026

The G22 4 Series sits on BMW’s CLAR platform with a wider rear track and a longer wheelbase than the F32 it replaced, and on xDrive cars that width is shared with a driveshaft and transfer case running straight through the rear subframe. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec kit for the G22 (BM120-1) uses a modified rear-integrated mounting arrangement built around that hardware, so both 2WD and 4WD versions of this chassis can be lowered and adjusted without the rear geometry fighting the drivetrain.

This is not a fast-road coilover pressed into drift duty. It is valved for holding the body flat mid-slide and for the quick correction a four-cylinder 420i or a six-cylinder M440i needs to catch an angle rather than just point at one. Ride height and damping move independently of each other, so you can drop the car for a lower centre of gravity without losing the bump stroke a bumpy circuit apron demands.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 BMW 4 Series

On a G22 set up for drift work, the biggest gains are in how predictably the rear end lets go and comes back. Three external adjustment knobs, metering oil through a small-hole passage rather than one large orifice, let you fine-tune how sharply the car initiates a slide and how firmly it catches once it is sideways. Because the rear mounting is integrated around the driveshaft and subframe rather than bolted on top of it, ride height and geometry stay consistent whether the car is a 2WD or an xDrive 4WD version of this chassis. That means a low, planted drift stance on either the four-cylinder or six-cylinder G22 without the rear-end inconsistency a generic bolt-on kit would introduce, and damping that can be wound up for grippier circuit surfaces or backed off for a looser, more progressive slide.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Drift Spec range specifically for drift competition rather than adapting a road or time-attack coilover for the job. The valving is set up to keep the body stable through high-speed direction changes so the car holds a clean, controllable angle instead of snapping into oversteer. Each corner uses three adjustment knobs, with damping oil routed through a small-hole passage rather than a wide bore – this is what gives the fine, progressive control drift driving needs, though it can produce a faint ticking noise over sharp bumps at speed, which is a normal side effect of that valving rather than a fault. Ride height is set through the bump stroke rather than just thread height, so you get a genuinely low stance while keeping the suspension travel a circuit surface still needs. The whole kit is built with circuit-track surfaces in mind, kerbs and ripple strips included, rather than treated as an afterthought.

Fitment for the Bmw 4 Series G22 (2020-2026)

This kit (SKU XYZ-COIL-BM120-1-PRD, chassis code BM120-1) fits the G22-generation BMW 4 Series built between 2020 and 2026, covering both 2WD and 4WD xDrive drivetrains across the four-cylinder and six-cylinder engine range. The rear-integrated mounting is specific to this generation of chassis, so confirm your car matches the G22 before ordering.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
