XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — BMW 4 SERIES G22 (2WD/4WD) 4/6CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) 2020-2026

The G22 4 Series carries more length and a wider track than the F32 it replaced, and on the standard air-sprung or passive setup that extra mass shows up as body roll you can feel through the seat bolsters the moment you load the outside front tyre. Racing Spec coilovers replace that compliance with a fully adjustable monotube damper built specifically for circuit work, so the chassis stops wallowing mid-corner and starts telling you what the front axle is actually doing.

For track and time-attack use in either the 2WD straight-six cars or the xDrive-equipped variants, that matters because power delivery and weight transfer behave differently under load – the rear-wheel-drive cars rotate on trail-brake, the xDrive cars push wider if the front end isn’t controlled. This kit is built to handle both, on 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder G22s alike, from 2020 through to the current 2026 model year.

What this coilover does for your 2020-2026 Bmw 4 Series

Fitted to a G22, the Racing Spec kit firms up initial turn-in response so the nose sets and holds rather than continuing to compress through the apex, which is exactly where this chassis loses time on a fast, wide car. Height-adjustable perches let you correct the aero balance and splitter clearance that the factory ride height compromises for road comfort, and the damper’s separate compression and rebound circuits mean you can control body control on corner entry independently of how quickly the rear settles on exit. On the 4-cylinder cars this sharpens turn-in without the front end feeling nervous under trail-braking; on the 6-cylinder cars the extra front-end mass is kept in check on the same corner-entry phase where the standard suspension gives up first. The rear geometry on this Modified Rr Integrated application is set up to work with the G22’s rear subframe as installed, rather than fighting it.

About the Racing Spec coilover

Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s dedicated circuit-racing damper, and its valving isn’t a generic track tune – it’s derived directly from settings run in WTCC competition, where the same monotube architecture has to survive full-distance races under sustained heat and load. That racing-derived base tune is why the damping holds its character lap after lap rather than fading as oil temperature climbs, a problem road-biased coilovers run into quickly once they see a circuit. For G22s carrying heavier modifications – bigger brakes, wider wheels, aero that changes the load through the corner – XYZ Racing can also build a bespoke shock absorber around your specific spec sheet and the circuit you intend to run, rather than asking you to compromise on an off-the-shelf valving curve.

Fitment for the Bmw 4 Series (2020-2026)

This kit is built for the G22 4 Series, chassis code BM120-1, spanning both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain configurations across 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine variants, model years 2020 to 2026. The rear damper mounting is the Modified Rr Integrated configuration, matched to this chassis’s factory rear subframe layout rather than a generic adapter.
