XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW 2 SERIES G87 M2 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2023-2026

The G87 M2’s factory adaptive dampers are tuned to keep the S58’s twin-turbo power hooked up in a straight line, not to hold a wide, sustained slide through a bank of cones. BMW’s electronic damper control has one job – minimise body roll and keep the tyre loaded – which is close to the opposite of what a drift car needs at 30 degrees of opposite lock. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that gap, with manually adjustable damping set up for sustained yaw rather than outright grip.

This is the cancellation-kit version, which removes the car’s electronic damping control so the factory system isn’t fighting the new dampers for authority over ride height and compression. For a G87 M2 built for competitive drifting, that matters more than raw spring rate – a coilover that argues with the factory ECU mid-slide is one that snaps grip back unpredictably.

What this coilover does for your 2023-2026 BMW 2 Series G87 M2

Once the electronic damper control is out of the picture, the G87’s chassis responds to inputs the way you’ve set it up, not the way BMW’s comfort-and-stability logic wants it to. Lowering the ride height and running the correct bump stroke settles weight transfer earlier in a drift entry, giving you a more predictable moment to catch the slide instead of a sudden snap of grip. Manual damping adjustment lets you firm up compression for a car putting S58 torque through the rear axle, so the back end doesn’t wallow mid-transition when you’re holding an angle. The result is a BMW 2 Series that telegraphs what the rear tyres are doing rather than masking it behind adaptive damping logic built for road use.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec range specifically around competition drifting rather than adapting a track coilover for sideways use. The damping and spring combination is set up to keep the car’s body stable through high-speed, high-angle turns, which is what lets a driver hold a consistent line and a repeatable angle instead of the car wandering mid-slide. Ride height drops as part of the setup, and the kit is built around a proper bump stroke so the suspension has somewhere to go when the car loads up on entry, rather than topping or bottoming out. The intent throughout is control at the edge of slip angle, not outright lateral grip – a distinction that matters once you’re committed to a drift line and need the chassis to stay predictable rather than progressively grippier.

Fitment for the BMW 2 Series G87 M2 (2023-2026)

This kit is built for the G87-generation M2, chassis code BM128-1-C, covering the 2023 to 2026 model years. It’s the Modified RR Integrated fitment with the cancellation kit for electronic damping, so it’s specifically for cars where the stock electronic damper control needs to be removed rather than left running alongside the new dampers.

For a G87 M2 headed for the drift circuit rather than the daily commute, this is the coilover that lets the chassis do what you tell it – pick your spec below.

This suspension is designed for Drift race especially. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowing the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
