XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mazda 323 BF (GTX) 4WD 1987-1989

The 323 BF GTX was Mazda’s Group A homologation weapon – a turbocharged 1.6 with full-time 4WD, built in tiny numbers to put the marque on a WRC stage. Putting a drift-focused coilover under one is an unusual brief, and the XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover for the Mazda 323 BF (GTX) 4WD 1987-1989 is built to meet it: a circuit-and-competition damper aimed squarely at chassis control when the car is being asked to hold a deliberate angle rather than tramp out of a stage hairpin.

This is not a fast-road comfort kit. It is a competition coilover designed to lower the GTX hard, set bump stroke correctly, and keep the heavy front-biased turbo nose composed when the car is loaded mid-corner at speed.

What this coilover does for your 1987-1989 Mazda 323 BF (GTX) 4WD

Drop the ride height with the right bump stroke and the BF’s body settles – less roll, a flatter platform, and a front end that stays planted when you load it through a fast turn. The three independent adjustment knobs let you tune damping to suit the surface and the way you want the 4WD chassis to transition. On a car this old, the gain is night and day: the standard struts were never meant for sustained track loads, and a properly valved coilover restores the body control the GTX’s rally-bred running gear can actually use. Expect sharper turn-in, a more predictable rear, and far less of the soggy pitch the original setup gives up under hard braking.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

This is a purpose-designed competition damper for drift and circuit use. Its special valving is built to stabilise the body during high-speed cornering so the driver can set and hold an angle, and it is engineered to lift drifting performance once the ride height and bump stroke are dialled correctly. Three adjustment knobs give independent control over the damping behaviour. One characterful detail worth knowing: the design uses a small oil passage, so when you hit a large bump the oil forced through that restriction can produce a faint noise. That is normal and inherent to the spec – this kit is made for the smooth surfaces of circuit tracks, where bumps are not a concern, rather than for broken public roads.

Fitment for the Mazda 323 BF (GTX) 4WD (1987-1989)

This kit is specified for the Mazda 323 BF GTX 4WD built between 1987 and 1989, the turbocharged Group A homologation variant. Confirm your chassis matches the BF GTX 4WD spec before ordering, as the standard front-wheel-drive 323 of the same era uses different running gear.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
