XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mazda 323 BF (GTX) 4WD 1987-1989

The 323 GTX was built to put Mazda on Group A rally stages, and the BF chassis still behaves like the homologation special it is: a turbocharged B6T four driving all four wheels, light enough to be flickable but quick to load its dampers when the surface turns loose. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is the rally-spec answer for that platform, with the long-travel geometry a 4WD car needs to keep all four tyres planted over crests, ruts and compressions.

This is not a lowering kit dressed up for the road. It is a gravel and snow damper for owners who actually point a 323 BF GTX down a forest stage or a winter rallycross loop, and who need the suspension to survive a full run rather than fade after the first few corners.

What this coilover does for your 1987-1989 Mazda 323 BF (GTX) 4WD

On loose surfaces the extended front and rear travel gives the GTX the buffer it needs to soak up big inputs without bottoming, so the 4WD system keeps finding drive instead of skating over the tops of bumps. The larger oil and nitrogen gas volume holds damping consistency through a long stage, where a road-biased shock would heat-soak and go vague. Three-way adjustment lets you set bump and rebound for the grip level under you, firmer for hard-pack and snow, softer and more compliant for deep gravel. The net effect is a 323 that stays settled under heavy braking into a hairpin and puts its turbo power down cleanly on corner exit.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This damper is engineered specifically for rally and rallycross use rather than tarmac circuit work. The headline feature is travel: both ends run longer stroke than a circuit kit, increasing the buffer distance that keeps the car stable when it lands hard or crosses a compression. To support that, XYZ Racing has increased the volume of both shock oil and nitrogen gas, which resists the temperature build-up that drains a smaller shock after sustained hard use. Adjustment runs through three knobs, and their fine oil-passage design means that over large impacts the fluid forced through the small ports can produce a faint noise. That is normal behaviour for this construction and not a fault.

Fitment for the Mazda 323 BF (GTX) 4WD (1987-1989)

This kit is built for the BF-generation Mazda 323 in GTX 4WD specification, covering the 1987 to 1989 model years and the full-time four-wheel-drive chassis code GTX. Confirm your car is the turbocharged GTX 4WD variant rather than a two-wheel-drive 323 before ordering, as the platforms differ.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
