XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Hyundai GENESIS COUPE BK 2.0T 2008-2010

The BK-generation Genesis Coupe runs an unusual combination for a Korean coupe: a turbocharged four driving the rear wheels. That makes it a natural launch platform, but only if you can get the rear axle to bite. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe BK 2.0T is built around that one problem – planting the driven wheels when the Theta II 2.0T comes on boost off the line.

This is not a fast-road or circuit setup. The Drag Racing valving and spring choice are tuned for straight-line weight transfer over a 0-400 metre run, letting the nose lift and the rear squat so the tyres load up under launch instead of spinning away the boost.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe BK 2.0T

On a hard launch, the rear suspension settles and the contact patch grows as weight shifts rearward, cutting the wheelspin that costs you at the lights. The setup lets you bias front and rear ride height and load so the BK’s rear axle compresses under power and the tyres hook up cleanly. Higher up the strip the same calibration keeps the car settled and tracking straight rather than getting nervous near the trap. For a 2008-2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe used for drag and roll work, that means tighter 60-foot times and a launch you can repeat run after run of testing.

About the Drag Racing coilover

The Drag Racing coilover is engineered specifically for 0-400 metre sprints rather than general road or track duty. XYZ Racing built the range to suit front-, rear- and four-wheel-drive launch setups, with adjustment that shifts weight between the front and rear axles to suit whichever wheels are putting the power down. The aim is to load the driven tyres harder at the moment of launch, increasing compression on the contact patch so the wheel spends less time spinning and more time driving the car forward. That reduction in idle time off the line is where elapsed times fall. The valving also keeps the car composed at the top end, holding it stable as speed builds toward the trap. Height and corner balance are adjustable, so you can set squat and rake to match your tyre and surface.

Fitment for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe BK 2.0T (2008-2010)

These coilovers are cut for the BK-platform Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T, covering the 2008-2010 model years. The fitment is specific to the 2.0-litre turbocharged, rear-wheel-drive cars on the BK chassis. Confirm your build year falls inside the 2008-2010 span before configuring.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
