XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2020

The W222 S-Class left the factory on Airmatic air struts, not steel, and it carries well over two tonnes before a driver climbs in. That mass is the whole problem on a drag strip: launch a rear-drive S63 badly and it simply lights up the rear tyres while the clock keeps running. This XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the Mercedes Benz S Class W222 is built for the 0-400 metre window and nothing else.

This is the non-MBC, non-4MATIC fitment, supplied with the cancellation kit that signs off the car’s electronic damping so the dash stays quiet once the air suspension comes out. The valving is set to throw weight rearward the instant you drop the clutch or sidestep the brake, loading the driven axle rather than fighting it.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 Mercedes Benz S Class W222

On a heavy rear-drive saloon, the first sixty feet decide the run. The damping here is tuned to plant the rear tyres as the nose lifts, putting more compression through the contact patch that actually does the work and cutting the moment of wheelspin that bleeds away time off the line. You feel it as a cleaner hook-up and less of the squat-then-scrabble that stock air suspension gives under full throttle. Higher up the strip, the same control keeps a two-tonne car settled and tracking straight at terminal speed, where a soft factory setup would wallow.

About the Drag Racing coilover

This series exists for straight-line 0-400 work, with damper settings developed across front, rear and four-wheel-drive layouts. The governing idea is dynamic weight management: the suspension deliberately redistributes load front to rear according to which wheels are putting power down, forcing greater compression into the driven tyre during the launch. That reduces the wheel’s idle and spin time at the hit and keeps the car stable as speed builds. On this rear-drive W222 application that translates to a setup biased toward rearward weight transfer, paired with the cancellation module so the standard adaptive damping electronics do not flag a fault once the coilovers are fitted.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz S Class W222 (2014-2020)

Engineered for the W222 S-Class built 2014 to 2020, specifically the non-MBC hydraulic, non-4MATIC variant. The kit includes the cancellation harness for the factory electronic damping, so the conversion from Airmatic to coilover does not trigger suspension warnings. Confirm your car is rear-drive and without Magic Body Control before ordering.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
