XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2020

Stripping Airmatic or the active body control out of a W222 S-Class is one of the more committed modifications you can make to a modern Mercedes flagship – and the Tarmac Rally coilover is the spec that justifies the surgery. This is a kit built for sealed-surface stage work and broken British B-roads, with the travel and damper authority to keep a 2.1-tonne luxury saloon planted when the camber turns nasty.

The W222 was never a chassis that wanted to be flung; it was a chassis that wanted to be wafted. The Tarmac Rally setup rewrites that brief entirely, giving the long wheelbase the body control to actually use its weight rather than fight it through quick direction changes.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 Mercedes Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

You feel the change first in the way the car settles. Where the original air suspension would float, pitch under braking and then bob on the exit of a roundabout, the Tarmac Rally damping pins the body flat and keeps the contact patch loaded. Heavy nose dive on the front axle – a real W222 trait given the V8 and V12 engine weights up front – is brought under control, which transforms how the car responds to trail-braking into a long sweeper.

The cancellation module is the part most W222 owners need to hear about: it tells the car’s ride-control ECU to stop throwing dashboard faults once the electronic dampers and air struts come out. Ride height is adjustable across a useful range, so you can sit the car for fast-road use or drop it for stage-spec stance without compromising the kit’s damper stroke.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

The Tarmac Rally sits in the XYZ Racing range as the sealed-surface rally specification – longer stroke than a pure circuit coilover, with damping valved to absorb mid-corner imperfections rather than punish them. Construction is a full monotube damper with separate spring and ride-height adjustment, so corner weighting and stance are set independently. Damping is adjustable across a wide click range, letting you tune compression and rebound together to suit either smooth tarmac stages or pockmarked back roads.

Spring rates are selected with the Tarmac Rally use-case in mind: stiffer than the standard road tune, but not so aggressive that the car loses compliance over expansion joints and patched surfaces. The included cancellation kit is a non-negotiable part of the package on this chassis, because the W222’s electronic damping and air-suspension diagnostics will otherwise flag a fault the moment the original struts come off the car.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz S CLASS W222 (2014-2020)

This kit is for the W222 chassis built between 2014 and 2020, specifically the NON-MBC variants – cars without Magic Body Control hydraulic suspension and without 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The supplied cancellation kit is intended for the electronic damping system fitted to this generation. Chassis code on this SKU is ME63-C; confirm your VIN matches a NON-MBC, two-wheel-drive W222 before ordering, as the MBC and 4MATIC cars use a different front geometry and a different damper architecture entirely.
