XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2014-2020

The W222 S-Class arrived from Stuttgart riding on Airmatic by default, and that air-spring setup is the first thing owners learn to love and then quietly resent. Bag failures north of 60,000 miles, dealer replacement quotes that read like a deposit on another car, and a ride height that sags overnight on the driveway – it’s the W222 owner’s tax for choosing the limousine that taught the segment what isolation meant. The XYZ Racing Top Sport coilover for the 2014-2020 Mercedes Benz S CLASS W222 is the conventional-suspension answer to that bill, built specifically for the rear-drive, non-MBC, non-4MATIC cars and shipped with the electronic damping cancellation kit so the dash stays quiet after install.

This is not a coilover designed to turn an S-Class into a track car. It is engineered to give a two-tonne flagship saloon predictable, owner-tunable ride control on coil springs that don’t fail catastrophically at 70mph.

What this coilover does for your 2014-2020 Mercedes Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

On the W222, the move from air to coil changes the character of the car in a way that owners of long-wheelbase saloons feel immediately. Body float on motorway expansion joints is replaced by a controlled, single-stroke recovery. The nose stops hunting for height on cold mornings. Damping is adjustable across 30 clicks of bump and rebound on a single knob, so the same car can be dialled soft for the school run and firmer for a B-road weekend without taking a spanner to the shock. Ride height is set on the lower bracket – threaded body separate – so corner weights and rake can be balanced without preloading the spring. The included cancellation kit defeats the OEM electronic damping signal cleanly, so no error codes, no chassis-stability warning, no limp-home behaviour at start-up.

About the Top Sport coilover

Top Sport sits in the XYZ Racing range as the comfort-biased, road-first specification. Construction is a 52mm monotube damper with a separate threaded lower bracket, which keeps spring preload independent of ride height – a non-negotiable for a car this heavy. Damping is single-adjustable across 30 detented positions covering both compression and rebound from one input. Spring rates are chosen with the W222’s kerb weight in mind rather than carried over from a generic platform fitment, and the pillowball top mounts are camber-adjustable on the front to recover some of the geometry lost when a big saloon is brought closer to the ground. Internals use SAE 1045 piston rods and FK bearings; oil is a synthetic blend rated to repeated heat cycles rather than a one-pass sprint shock fluid. The whole assembly is built for the owner who wants air-spring comfort with mechanical reliability.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz S CLASS W222 (NON MBC hydraulic or 4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2014-2020)

Chassis code ME63-C, covering 2014-2020 W222 S-Class cars on the standard rear-drive, non-MBC, non-4MATIC platform. The kit includes the electronic damping cancellation module – cars originally specified with Magic Body Control hydraulic suspension or 4MATIC drivetrain require a different part number, not this one. Confirm your VIN-coded suspension option before ordering.
