XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — BMW 5 SERIES E60 M5 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2005-2010

The E60 M5’s S85 V10 sends every one of its revs through the rear axle, and on a drag strip that mass and that 8,250rpm reach are only as quick as the rear tyres can hook up. This XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover set is built for the 0-400 launch, controlling how the chassis loads its rear contact patches the moment the lights drop. It also ships as a cancellation kit for the factory Electronic Damping Control, so the M5’s EDC steps aside cleanly when the new dampers go in.

Where the standard adaptive setup is tuned for road breadth, this kit trades that range for a single job: planting weight over the driven wheels when it counts. For an E60 M5 run at sprint and drag events, that is the line between lighting up the rears and converting V10 torque into forward drive.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2010 Bmw 5 Series E60 M5

Set up for drag work, these coilovers shift load rearward as the M5 launches, pressing the driven tyres into the surface and shortening the window where the rears scrabble for grip. That cuts wheelspin off the line and helps the 1,800kg-plus saloon settle as speed builds down the strip. Ride-height adjustment lets you rake the car nose-up to favour rear bite, while the firmer spring platform keeps squat in check so the geometry stays where you set it. Because the kit cancels the EDC, you lose the dashboard fault light and gain a mechanically damped rear that responds consistently under repeated hard launches.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Drag Racing series specifically for 0-400 metre sprints, with a setting philosophy aimed at front-to-rear weight transfer rather than circuit composure. The damping and spring choice encourage the chassis to throw load onto the driven axle the instant the car moves, forcing greater compression into the driven tyres so they bite harder and spin less. The result is reduced idle time at the wheel – that brief moment where the tyre turns without translating into drive – and steadier behaviour as the car gathers high speed at the top end. The platform is engineered for front, rear and four-wheel-drive layouts; on the rear-driven E60 M5 it concentrates that effort over the back axle. Ride height is adjustable so you can pre-load the stance for launch, and the supplied cancellation kit keeps the original Electronic Damping Control from throwing errors once the standard adaptive struts come out.

Fitment for the Bmw 5 Series E60 M5 (2005-2010)

This set is cut for the E60 M5 saloon, chassis code BM42-C, covering the 2005 to 2010 production run. It includes the cancellation kit needed for the car’s factory Electronic Damping Control, so it suits M5 variants that left the factory with EDC rather than the passive E60 setup. Confirm your build year falls inside the 2005-2010 window before ordering.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
