XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Subaru WRX VB (NON Electronic Suspension) 2022-2026

The WRX VB on its non-adaptive suspension leaves owners with one factory damper tune and little say in it – which is exactly the gap the XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover for the Subaru WRX VB (2022-2026) is built to close. Where the GT trim hides behind electronically controlled dampers, the standard car asks for a mechanical answer, and this kit gives the SU27 chassis the body control its FA24 turbo flat-four and symmetrical all-wheel drive deserve on a broken surface.

Tarmac Rally is the clue in the name. These dampers are valved for sealed-stage work – the kerbs, frost-heave and patched apexes of a closed British stage – rather than billiard-smooth circuit tarmac. The settings come straight from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally programme, tuned to keep four driven tyres loaded when the road stops cooperating.

What this coilover does for your 2022-2026 Subaru WRX VB

Drop the VB onto these and the first thing you feel is the end of float. The standard non-electronic damping lets the nose dive and the tail squat under the FA24’s mid-range shove; the Tarmac Rally valving reins both ends in so the symmetrical AWD can actually deploy its grip. Over broken tarmac the dampers soak up the hit instead of bouncing the car off line, which keeps all four tyres loaded and the steering honest mid-corner. You also get to set ride height to put the Subaru Global Platform’s roll centres back where they belong after lowering. The extra traction the kit is known for is real – it comes from the damper controlling the impact rather than letting the tyre skip across the surface. Day to day, the compliance built into a rally tune means the car stays usable on the road home.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Tarmac Rally coilover for one job: keeping a car composed when the surface is anything but. The damping is designed to absorb the impact of uneven pavement, swallowing the big single hits – kerbs, dips and broken edges – that would otherwise unsettle the body and unweight a tyre. By suppressing how much of that shock reaches the shell, the damper holds the contact patch down and feeds traction back to the driven wheels, which is where the stability and clean handling the kit is known for actually come from. Every setting in the package is drawn from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally competition experience, not adapted from a road or circuit spec. That heritage is the point – this is a rally-derived tune sold for a road-going WRX VB, giving the SU27 a damper that prioritises surface compliance and traction over outright stiffness.

Fitment for the Subaru WRX VB (2022-2026)

This kit is cut for the VB-generation Subaru WRX, chassis code SU27, across the 2022 to 2026 model years. It is specified for cars on the standard non-electronic suspension – if your WRX is a GT running Subaru’s electronically controlled dampers, this is not the correct fitment. Confirm your trim before you configure.
