XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Subaru IMPREZA GC/GF 2WD/4WD 1992-2000

The GC/GF Impreza came out of Subaru’s WRC programme with soft road springs and a tall, roll-prone stance that masks how much grip the boxer-and-AWD package can actually find. The XYZ Racing Circuit Master coilover is the firm end of the fix – a kit built for sustained circuit lap-time work rather than the occasional fast-road blast.

For a GC8 turbo that lives on track, the appeal is control: planting the nose under braking into a slow corner, settling the lift-off rotation that bites mid-fast-bend, and keeping the low-slung EJ20’s mass composed when you get back on boost. This is the spec you fit once the standard dampers have long since faded.

What this coilover kit does for your 1992-2000 Subaru Impreza GC/GF 2WD/4WD

Drop the ride height and the Impreza’s centre of gravity falls with it, taking out the floaty body roll that makes the standard car wash wide. The Circuit Master’s 9720 combinations of adjustment let you separate bump and rebound, so you can run a firm platform for support without the car skating over kerbs and mid-corner ridges. On a GC8 you will feel turn-in sharpen, brake dive shrink, and the AWD system put power down earlier on exit because the rear is no longer squatting and unloading the fronts. Set softer for a 2WD GF on a rough circuit, stiffer for a 4WD STI chasing a dry time – the range stretches across both.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master sits at the top of XYZ Racing’s competition range, sharing its design thinking with their Racing Spec, Drift Spec and Tarmac Rally builds. Three separate adjustment knobs give you that 9720-position spread, splitting compression and rebound control so the damper is tuned in fine increments rather than blunt steps. XYZ run this damper with their own race teams across international circuits, and it has been through long-run durability testing rather than a single shakedown. One quirk worth knowing: the small oil passages inside the knobs can produce a faint noise when the car crashes over large bumps, as the damper oil is forced through a tight orifice. That is normal and by design – this is a coilover engineered for the smoother, repeatable surface of a race track, not for soaking up broken B-roads.

Fitment for the Subaru Impreza GC/GF 2WD/4WD (1992-2000)

This kit is mapped to the SU04-generation Impreza, covering the GC saloon and GF five-door across the full 1992 to 2000 run. Both the 2WD and 4WD drivetrains are catered for, so naturally aspirated and turbo WRX/STI cars are included. Confirm your chassis code and build year against the listing before ordering.
