XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Nissan SKYLINE R34 (Rear FORK) 1999-2002

Taking an R34 Skyline onto gravel stages demands a completely different brief from anything the road or tarmac circuit asks of the chassis. The R34’s substantial kerb weight and factory ride height – calibrated for Japanese expressways, not silt-covered forest tracks – become serious variables the moment the surface turns loose.

The XYZ Racing Gravel Rally coilover for the Nissan Skyline R34 (Rr Fork) 1999-2002 exists to answer a specific engineering question: how do you run this chassis at pace over surfaces that punish any shortfall in travel and compliance? The answer starts with geometry, not just adjustment count.

What this coilover does for your 1999-2002 Nissan SKYLINE R34 (Rr FORK)

The inverted tube construction keeps the main damper body elevated in the suspension arc, protecting seals and shaft from the stone and debris that conventional dampers pack in during competition. On loose surfaces, the R34’s rear multilink geometry – the fork arrangement this kit is specifically dimensioned for – needs genuine vertical travel to maintain tyre contact through compression, and the extended stroke length provides that articulation without the chassis grounding out on high-speed impacts.

For the driver, the difference registers most on high-speed crests and through the aggressive lateral G-loading of a tight hairpin taken at rally pace. Spring rates across the range have been validated by rally racing teams running exactly these conditions, so the setup that works for sandstone won’t have you chasing the bump stop on snow or silt.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

The Gravel Rally is an inverted-tube damper built specifically for rally racing and rally cross – the disciplines where surface aggression places the highest demand on the shock absorber. Inverting the damper tube reduces unsprung mass while keeping debris away from the internals during competition, a critical detail when stages mix gravel, sandstone, and snow within the same event.

Extended spring lengths work alongside generous stroke to absorb chassis vibration and the extreme G-forces generated when turning at speed on loose, unpredictable surfaces. XYZ Racing developed the spring rate specifications in collaboration with rally racing teams, covering the three principal loose-surface types – sandstone, snow, and silt – each of which loads and unloads the suspension in meaningfully different ways. The result is a coilover that can be configured specifically for an event’s conditions rather than split the difference poorly across all of them.

Fitment for the Nissan SKYLINE R34 (Rr FORK) (1999-2002)

This kit is built for the Nissan Skyline R34 carrying the rear fork suspension configuration, chassis code NI43, covering the 1999-2002 production window. The Rr Fork designation is a distinct fitment – buyers should confirm their vehicle’s rear suspension type before ordering, as other R34 rear suspension variants use a separate fitment.

The Gravel Rally coilover is a serious, single-purpose tool for a specific kind of competition. Configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
