XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Mazda 626 1993-1997

The GE-generation Mazda 626 sits in an odd corner of the front-wheel-drive saloon world – a 1990s family car with a willing chassis underneath the soft factory damping and a body that rolls a little too eagerly when you start pressing on. The Circuit Master coilover is built to clean that up: replace the tired OE struts with a fully adjustable kit that gives the 626 the body control its handling balance has always deserved.

For owners using a 626 as a fast-road weapon or weekend circuit car, this is the kit that turns a thirty-year-old saloon into something that actually responds to inputs. Spring rates and damping are picked for track work first, road compliance second.

What this coilover does for your 1993-1997 Mazda 626

Drop the 626 onto a Circuit Master setup and the first thing you feel is the chassis settling instantly mid-corner instead of taking a beat to load up. Roll is reduced, steering response sharpens, and the front end stops washing wide on faster turn-ins. The 30-way damping adjustment lets you firm things up for a track day and back them off for the drive home, so you are not locked into one compromise. Ride height comes down to give the 626 a proper stance without bottoming the dampers, and corner balancing becomes possible for the first time on a car that left the factory with fixed-rate struts. Brake dive under heavy stops is noticeably calmer, which matters on a chassis that relies on weight transfer to rotate.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master is XYZ Racing’s circuit-focused damper, built around a monotube body with a large-bore piston and high-pressure nitrogen gas charge to keep damping consistent as oil temperatures climb during repeat lap sessions. The 30-way adjustment dial covers both bump and rebound on a combined curve, which keeps tuning straightforward without sacrificing range. Pillow-ball top mounts on the front replace the rubber OE mounts, sharpening steering feel and adding a small amount of camber adjustability. Ride height is set independently from spring preload via the lower bracket, so you can lower the car without pre-loading the spring and killing low-speed compliance. Spring rates are matched to the 626’s kerb weight and front-biased layout rather than pulled off a generic shelf.

Fitment for the Mazda 626 (1993-1997)

This kit is built specifically for the GE-platform Mazda 626 (chassis code MA18) sold between 1993 and 1997, covering saloon, hatchback and coupe bodies on the same wheelbase. Front struts use the MacPherson layout; rears use the multi-link arrangement that defined this generation. Fitment is direct bolt-on using the OE mounting points.
