XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — Maserati Quattroporte M139 2003-2012

The M139 Quattroporte is a 1,930kg saloon with a Ferrari-derived 4.2 or 4.7 V8 hung over the front axle and a transaxle gearbox behind the rear seats. That layout gives the chassis a near-50/50 balance on paper, but the standard Skyhook dampers were never specified for the loads a heavily-optioned car carries two decades into its life, and most surviving examples now ride on tired OE struts that no longer support the weight properly. The Circuit Master is the XYZ Racing answer for owners who want to retire the failing factory adaptive setup entirely and replace it with something rebuildable.

Built around a 32-step adjustable monotube damper with separate height adjustment on the lower mount, it is the spec aimed squarely at hard road and trackday use rather than the boulevard ride the Quattroporte left Modena with. Spring rates are matched to the M139’s front-mass distribution rather than borrowed from a generic E-Class kit.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2012 Maserati Quattroporte

Swapping the Skyhook struts for the Circuit Master gives you back something the OE setup loses as it ages: a flat platform under load. The 32 clicks of bump and rebound adjustment let you firm up the nose to stop the V8 pitching the car onto its outside-front shoulder mid-corner, then back off the rear to keep the transaxle planted out of slow bends. Ride height drops on the spring perch, so you can lose the factory arch gap without resorting to lowering springs that wreck the damper travel. Pillowball top mounts on the front sharpen turn-in response, and the rebuildable monotube body means a fluid-and-seal service in five years is a workshop job, not a scrap-and-replace. The result is a Quattroporte that finally drives with the body control its powertrain has always deserved.

About the Circuit Master coilover

The Circuit Master sits in the middle of the XYZ Racing road-and-track range. Construction is a 52mm monotube damper running low-friction Teflon-lined seals, with a hard-anodised aluminium lower bracket carrying the ride-height collar independently of the spring perch – so you set ride height and preload as separate adjustments rather than fighting one against the other. Damping is single-knob 32-way, adjusting bump and rebound together on a fixed slope tuned for fast road and circuit work. Springs are cold-wound SAE 9254 steel, rated for the M139’s front-heavy weight bias. The kit is supplied fully assembled at a baseline setting and arrives with the spanners needed for ride-height changes. Every damper is dyno-tested before despatch and the internals are designed to be stripped and refreshed rather than discarded.

Fitment for the Maserati Quattroporte M139 (2003-2012)

This kit fits the M139 chassis Quattroporte from launch in 2003 through to end of production in 2012, covering both the 4.2 V8 cars and the later 4.7 Sport GT S variants. Both DuoSelect and ZF automatic gearboxes are supported – the coilover sits ahead of the gearbox so the transaxle housing is not a factor.
