XYZ Racing Super Sport Coilovers — Maserati GHIBLI M157 4WD (excl. EDC) 2013-2026

The M157 Ghibli’s Q4 all-wheel-drive layout puts a 1,870kg saloon on a Chrysler-derived platform with a Ferrari-built twin-turbo V6 hung over the front axle. That nose weight, combined with the standard car’s softly-sprung GT calibration, is exactly why owners running the non-EDC chassis end up looking at a proper coilover. The Super Sport gives you a way to take that mass and pin it down without turning a luxury saloon into something you regret on the M40.

For a 2013-2026 Ghibli M157 4WD running the standard passive dampers, this is the fast-road and occasional-track answer. It replaces the OEM strut-and-spring setup completely, gives you ride-height and damper control the original car was never specified to offer, and lets you set the car up for how you actually drive it.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2026 Maserati GHIBLI M157 4WD (excl. EDC)

Drop the ride height and the Ghibli starts to look the way Maserati’s design sketches always implied it should – wheel arches filled, centre of gravity lowered, the 4WD stance tightened up. More importantly, body roll on turn-in collapses, which is the single biggest complaint owners have when they push a stock Ghibli through a fast B-road sequence. The 30-way damping adjustment lets you run the car softer for a Cotswolds weekend and firmer when you point it at a track day, all from the same kit. Spring rates are matched to the chassis weight rather than borrowed from a lighter platform, so initial compression stays controlled under the V6’s torque delivery and the rear stays planted when the all-wheel-drive system shuffles power forward. Brake dive under hard stops from motorway speeds is significantly reduced, which on a car this heavy translates directly to shorter, more confident stopping distances.

About the Super Sport coilover

The Super Sport sits as XYZ Racing’s fast-road-with-track-capability coilover and uses a monotube damper construction with a separated piston design to keep oil and gas apart under sustained heat. Damping is independently adjustable across 30 clicks of compression and rebound combined, letting you bias the car toward comfort or composure without removing the wheels. Ride height is set at the lower mount via a knurled adjuster, so you can dial corner-weight without compressing the spring – meaningful on a 4WD chassis where cross-weight matters more than people think. Spring rates are selected for the M157’s mass distribution, with the front end specified to handle the V6 and 4WD hardware sitting ahead of the bulkhead. Pillowball top mounts feature on the front struts where the chassis allows, sharpening steering response without introducing the constant low-speed harshness that plagues lesser kits. Construction is hardened steel throughout with a corrosion-resistant finish that survives UK winters.

Fitment for the Maserati GHIBLI M157 4WD (2013-2026)

This kit is specified for the M157-chassis Ghibli running the Q4 all-wheel-drive system, model years 2013 through 2026. It is not compatible with EDC-equipped cars – those use electronically-controlled dampers and require a different solution. Confirm your car is the passive-suspension Q4 variant before ordering.
